Shadowrun 5th Edition. Every other Saturday

Alright peeps,
We have enough interest to try another Shadowrun game. I can only run it every other week, but here we go.

January 3rd and January 17th. 4 Pm Eastern (convert to your own time 8P).

January 31st is off, due to Comic Con obligations.

Basic setting:
Europe (starting in Austria)
Speak German (your character, not you) at least a few ranks
Shadowrun 5th edition
We will be playing on my TS server (I can send out the info for everyone who RSVPs)
We have a few players that are not in the Borg, so there will be information elsewhere also

Any questions, feel free to ask. Contact me in advance if you like for character concept and assistance, or we can polish it on Saturday Jan 3. I do not see getting a full run in that day, but it depends on how much we get done.

Please respond if you intend to join us regularly (life happens, but try to be there if you say you will).

This would be running from 4pm until when?

 

I would say 10ish east, but depends on the group. If we get close to that and are at a natural stopping point, we stop early. If life happens and peeps have to dash, we can stop early too.

Biggest advantage would be the ability to go longer than just 2 hours or so on the evenings.

 

Start thinking about roles then.

This should be a hoot, now I just need an Austrian nightclub and we are golden. (in, you know, 60 years).

I really can sympathize with some of this. FASA is known for creating ultra detailed rule systems.

 

Detailed, yes, but a lot of what he says is in the extreme cases. "Chunky Salsa" effect, as the explosions bouncing off walls is called is a very rare instance. I think it has come up once in the 15 years or so I have played Shadowrun.

5th Edition is actually easier in some regards, but also more complex in others. Hero Lab has a SR5 character generator and it helps a lot with things like max hits.

 

Hero lab helps out but even still, I know i'll be stumbling around alot for awhile xD

 

Even if you don't buy the expansion, you can use it to get a feel for how character creation works.

 

Alright, so far we have a decker and a gun bunny.

 

We are going to be taking a break for dinner and so forth right? It's not so bad for our friends out west, but 4 - 10 pm cuts out the entire evening here.

Haki, we will figure something out. When we game tabletop on the other Saturdays we usually take about 30 minutes at some point.

Alright, Beer, let me put some thought to what we need.

Also, a few thoughts and pointers:

First, this campaign has so far been on the good side, rescuing kidnapped children, etc.

Second, we are avoiding ghoulish behaviors for both in game and player reasons.

Third, can you make it reliably every other week? There will be time off, such as Jan 31st, etc. I will post those as much in advance as I can.

As long as it's every other Saturday, yes. Weekdays are the only days I couldn't be reliable due to work.

 

Alright, we have a face, a decker, a mage, a gunbunny, and a sam. Could probably use another sam or gun bunny.

And by ghoulish I meant torture, amputation, dissecting of enemies, stuff like that 8) You can blow up computers, but the blood and gore will be off screen 8)

 

Of course, "on the good side" in this case did not prevent use from shooting a guard in the head after he gave us the information we needed. We're shadowrunners, not saints.
