    poor starcraft ghost.

actually I think a starcraft MMO might do well but it would be fairly niche. like be a 3rd person shooter type MMO.

The least they could do is tell us what the fuck the game was about. Since we'll never see it now anyway.

I have mixed feelings about Blizzard canceling Titan, but I assume that an MMO which has its roots in 2007 wouldn't be relevant anymore, especially to Blizzard's standards. We can only hope that through the development process, they gained a bunch of applicable internal tools to help them design their next project.

from what I know through the leaks, is that it was supposed to be a sci-fi shooter mmo. Reminds you of anything, Destiny....which blizzard was forced to help develop.

I would like to see them make a sci-fi shooter like dead space but you are a marine from star craft.

If the game isn't fun then it's not worth to continue production. That's how sensible developers act. If it were someone like EA, they'd simply pump tons of money into marketing and brainwash everyone to buy it regardless.

Big or small company, at the end of day the only way you can see if a game will be fun is by starting development of it. And, while it sucks, not all games just work out the way you plan them because development is never straight forward. You may have to change a planned mechanic because it's impossible to implement the way you planned and issues arise that you never thought of.

And at the end of day you have to answer the ultimate question: "is this fun?".

I've personally been a part of 3 projects that were canned by our company because they just weren't fun enough. On paper they sounded a lot of fun and early into development they looked as though they'd be great but then at some point you realize that the fun's just MIA. For example we had a really great idea last summer and I slaved 14 hour days to get certain algorithms and optimizations to work as the first big obstacle was that our idea didn't work on common gaming gear at all. We resolved those issues for that particular project but finally there was an issue with 3D world projected on 2D screen where you just cannot intuitively tell the relative distances of objects and it ruined the whole game.

What I'm trying to say is
don't throw good money after bad money

Once you realize that the game's dead it doesn't help to pump more money into it. That money could be pumped into something that still has a pulse.

I fully respect their decision and I raise a hat for them for admitting that despite best efforts the game is not suitable for players. They could've sold it anyway to cut their losses. They didn't so all of the losses are on them and not on us. They must have been at least as excited about the game as we, people who've merely heard snippets about all of the things going on behind the curtains. After spending so much effort and emotion on the game, not to mention money, it's not an easy decision to make.

I have full confidence in them that they did the right choice. Unfortunately not everyone are capable of doing the same. Don't give them grief for doing the right thing.

Or a mechanized warfare thing where you have vultures, goliaths and siege tanks.
