The only people I know that say axe instead of ask are also those that are inbreed gangster wannabes.
Another good reason to love the SCA, the wife and I are going to Santa Fe ComicCon for free. She gets to look pretty , I get to whack people in armored combat demos. Tomorrow is going to be fun mmmm, Danish war axe....
I just need to see a picture of your war axe. There are few things that make you feel as alive as when you're swinging a two-handed axe. You feel like you're a god.
Thanks! Not that you can see it all that well, but all the steel (arms, legs, shoulders, gorget) were made by a friend of mine who is a master at making armor. It is all blackened steel with antiqued green leather. There are wolves on the elbow and knee wings done in silver, and my gauntlet cuffs have wolves stamped in the leather. Traded him a few drinking horns I carved for all that. Must have been a good trade because we both thought we got the better deal.
I have no crafting skills so I must hire people to do armor and things for me. It's all in the planning. Eventually when I'll have a home built I'll make sure to include a man cave with an armory, will be stacking it up with long axes, swords, knives and at least a bow and crossbow. For more modern stuff I'd like a .338 rifle. It could take couple of decades to complete my set of modern and ancient gear. Then again by the time I can afford them with my luck even cleavers will require a permit.
Hello, New applicant here! Just wanted to say "Hi!" and that that is one sweet kit! I've fought heavy list a bit but dropped out of it due to knee problems. I dig the early period viking stuff (who knew I'm trying to join a FRR group for MWO... could be a coincidence). Anyway keep up the good fight!
