    Silly question - can we allow overtime on our repairs?

    I'm preparing a 2 day repair plan for our stuff. I think if we don't have a mission this turn I can have everybody veeeeeeery close to 100%.

    Repair game mechanics have been balanced in a way that using Overtime would break that balance. Sorry bud.

    One thing that might help. For non-critical repairs (ie anything NOT center torso internals or engines), I've found that rushing repairs with a target of 5-6 to be more effective use of time than aiming for target rolls of 2,3, or 4. The reason is simple: even if i fail a rushed job at 1/8th the time, I still have 3 more chances (or something like that) to get it right for the same amount of time as a standard repair time. The end result I've found (usually) is that while I fail more often, I also save more time with each attempt. Just be careful with this. If you push too hard sometimes you can make things worse.

    I recommend testing two approaches; one where all your targets are relatively low (3-4) and one where they are higher (4-5). See which works for you.

    I'm pretty much running everything at 1/8 time, the only things that need more than a 3 are replacing the sections themselves.

    I'll keep mapping things out and seeing what combos give us the best amount of work.

    going at 1/8 speed for everything and using the astech abilities, it looks like gamma might finally be back up to full strength when I did a quick survey of the repairs needed. Even if we aren't able to get everything repaired, we should be in better shape than when we started the last round. This should allow us to see action and prevent the enemy forces from having a lengthy refit themselves this round.

    The thing that I am curious about is if we have thoroughly searched this base we now control to see what made it so valuable to the bandits and if there is anything beyond that which could make it valuable to us? Hate for us to walk away from a hidden star league depot because we didn't take the time to fully explore it.

    The plan I'm working on is using full advantage of the upgraded facilities for at least one round, so we can repair lost sections before this turn, make a map movement and still make good repairs in the field workshop before next turn as long as we don't engage anybody. Get the hardest/most time consuming things done first where the skill modifiers come in. That way we can still be mobile and make headway towards our next objective whatever it may be.
