Since trackers can guess the location you were most likely at when you got lost they can narrow the location down a lot. Now if you go walking around in crazy directions because you have no clue where you are going, that increases the amount area they have to search. Have you ever tried to find someone in a huge retail store before cell phones. Much easier to find someone who is stationary then walking around since they could be side stepping you the entire time and not even know it.
go across the aisles on one end. but the person you are looking for could be on the other end on the side of the aisle. not in an aisle.
