I wouldn't put it past EA to do that. and make it linear. player has to buy pistol (and own) to get and use blaster rifle and so on.
does that mean we have to spend years training as a jedi before we can use a lightsaber and force techniques? or spend 10 dollars to unlock now?
no to be a jedi you have to spend a minimum of $50. for the base game of ($60 I'm guessing) you get 2 characters (imperial army grunt and rebel trooper grunt) a knife for each and 1 map. with clone trooper and battle droid being DLC also space combat is DLC. and there will be 3 or more map packs each containing 2 maps. and you can upgrade your character (to stormtrooper and what not) by either paying money for or grinding alot. everything will be alot of grinding or DLC. I'm envisioning EA doing that. and a little scared of how possible it is they would do that. Also jedi first get training sabers before real lightsabers.
So, to be a Jedi, you need to pay $50 to acquire the class, then another $10-15 for a proper light saber. Since the base color will look like crap, you can spend another $5 for one of a bunch of base color crystals OR $7.50 for premium crystals. Let's not forget about some force powers! Grind a shit ton of time and complete certain difficult achievements to acquire certain force abilities OR spend $2.99 for one. Congratulations, you just spent around $75 for a decent Jedi character. We're EA and we know you're dumb enough to decide that it's toooootally worth every penny.....suckers.
Wouldn't be surprised if Disney just chose EA because EA does know how to make money even though they are a shit company.
Besides paying 5$ for each prerequisite weapon unlock, you'll lose everything every month. Even the grind counters will reset every month. In short, everything besides passwords and kill count will be erased, all servers will be swiped every month. To get permanent unlocks you'll have to pay one time 9.95$ per item. In the "sequel" the temporary unlocks will be 7.95$ and permanent ones will be 12.90$.
We could always submit all this to EA and kill all star wars games forever. on second thought that would be to much of a dick move.
I already lost hope for this game long ago. might as well just let go, this game is no longer aimed at the hard core star wars fan. Lets face it, the main stream gamer isn't a hard core star wars fan, they just want a star wars shooter that looks cool and new graphics, with fast paced insta-gratification mechanics.
Good, she was a naïve little girl anyway falling in love with a guy she just started randomly singing with in the forest. Who does that these day seriously.. Maybe she learned something from all this hopefully from letting mega corps run things they have no business with in the first place. Disney needs to go back to making girls ginies tingle and stop fucking with Star Wars. For those that don't get the reference... The good ole purity ring episode from south park...
