I do love whoever goes through the SE workshop and deletes all the mods posted that have no picture or description of what they do.
There's an even bigger thing now that they've whipped out the source code for people to tinker with. I see a brave future ahead for SE
Wouldn't surprise me if they did that more in the hopes of getting players to do a good amount of the bug fixing. also it may be because they are changing (I think?) the main code of the game sometime this year to make something smoother. I think it has something to do with the netcode.
They did talk a bit about how they intended this to allow some of the lunatics out there to make mods that change a lot more core concepts and the possible full conversions. A bold move for sure
heres a link yall will love... https://github.com/KeenSoftwareHouse/SpaceEngineers ^^^^^^^^^^ ALL SE SOURCE open to the public download now.... more info here http://blog.marekrosa.org/2015/05/space-engineers-full-source-code-access_40.html
Now you can have patrolling defense drones around your base so it can't just be sniped from out of range. Huzzah!
give them solar panels instead of a reactor or in addition to (with reactor mostly as backup power) and holy shit.
okay if you change your graphics to dx11 you'll probably need to find mods that are updated to dx11. you may also need to remove the old version from mod list with new dx11 one in there so it updates and most i've seen so far will automatically replace the old blocks with the new ones just by switching the mod list. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=451486869 that is for hammermans decorations. right now it only does interior wall blocks and such.
I've noticed with DX11 there are a few bugs, mostly when I was running a modded world where stock blocks would not have their textures as if they were in a mod not updated to DX11. Do have to admit though, game looks friggin' pretty with it on.
It did seem a little slower but i think that was due more to meshing of dx9 blocks with dx11 stuff. Though at the same time it seemed smoother
Without moving, my screen will rapidly cycle from normal lighting to pitch fucking black and back lit again. I've literally lined the interior of my current project ship with spotlights set to max radius, and I still cannot see more than about 3 blocks away from the spotlight. And when I say pitch black, I mean BLACK. It happens outside, when the ship should be well lit by the sun as well. I like the new better graphics, but an about to turn it back to dx9 because I cant play it like this. I should post some pics of my current "pocket battleship", assuming I can get the lighting to cooperate.
