Hell also State of Decay 2 comes out in May, which I am excited for.. so the game pass may just be worth it for those two games alone. I could have the game pass for a year for the same price as buying those two games. Plus I can play them on the Xbox One or the PC.
This game seems really interesting with a fun group of drunken people, but I find it hard to want to play it regular like. That being said I haven't played it yet, and it is a very very very pretty game to look at. Who knows maybe my lack of self restraint will force me to buy it. I'm excited to see where this game goes
Playing Sea Of Thieves. Killing pirates check, Killing skeletons check, Getting treasure.. check.. encountering two people playing on two different xbox. check, they were scared I was going to kill them, but I typed I wouldn't so they said had a discussion about trust. which I could hear. laughing the whole time answering them, and they wre like shit she can hear us... ummm ... so I asked them where they were going, and got on their ship, and started stailing it, which lead to a discussion of shooting me, but then I was going where they were so... they were confused... then I shot one, and jumped off their ship.... the end.
Sea of Thieves #2, so I'm sailing solo, I have killed 2 skeleton captains and found 1 sunken treasure I go to turn in and on the other side of the outpost island I spy a Galleon I whisper FUCK...and hope they don't see me. I take the chance anyways, and sail close to the island, then drop anchor away from the dock, on the other side of the island from the galleon I get my booty off my ship, and hidden behind a rock when I hear them say well our shit is turned in... do we hide here and wait for somebody to try to turn in so we kill them, or go hunting. they hem and haw a little, so I run back to my ship, and raise anchor. I hear one of them say whats that clicking noise. I hop off my ship before any of them see me, but I make sure it passes by theirs in a direct course away so I hear one of them shout SLOOP! lets get em! Tthey all chear and say be right there! They are talking over eachother I got sails, angle them angle them raise anchor lets go lets go load them cannons. I'm like dying so I pick up my chest, turn it in, then my two skulls. then I head over to where I can see my ship, and choose Skuttle. (which sinks it) Then I log out, practically crying cause I can imagine their confusion oh and i'm tired so everything is a little funnier. (fuck my grammer i'm tired, sorry, fix it if you like. not sorry)
Sounds like a bit of a mixed bag. It's a sandbox game, but there's not a lot of toys to play with in the sandbox. Sounds like a wait for sale purchase.
i do have to admit that I find my self logging on, only to basically troll people, then log off... without a crew of 4, you can "depend" on, it's hard to do anyhing wihout getting ganked
yeah that was my immediate thought, you might get lucky with pugs, but more frequently you're just going to get trolled and rolled. Because people that like to work with other people don't frequently play the game alone
I've been hearing a lot of comparisons between Sea of Thieves and No Man's Sky at launch. ...Ouch One caveat that should be mentioned is that while No Man's Sky was not a great game at launch, the game has generally improved with a bunch of free updates (there are rumors of multiplayer being added in a future update). It is unclear at this time if Sea of Thieves will improve in the same way, but there remains the possibility. That being said, the general consesus about SoT right now is that it is a $60 game seriously lacking in content for a game at that pricetag... so buyer beware.
If there was a better way to get more than 4 people on boat, and keep them there, then I would agree at this being a "good game" the problem is you're stuck with 4, and even if you get 4, you can't do the things that require more withough problems. Each group of 4 is "tied" to a ship, so one way would be to have two groups of 4, sail to the same island (if they are even able to be on the same server) then, either have 1 ship follow being piloted by 1 person (which would suck) or, leave 2 on the 2nd ship, and only have 6 on the "main" ship. so you're still out. The problem is if you die, you spawn at YOUR ship, (or a close island if your ship sunk.) So you can't just spawn on the same ship. Problem 2, only one ship's crew gets credit for "missions"
I have not played it recently, but it sounds like SoT is finally in a state that it is more fleshed out and more interesting. https://www.pcgamer.com/sea-of-thieves-anniversary-update/
Speaking for myself, don't really have the time for another game. Especially since I just got Div2 and I'm still enjoying that.
