    Unique Environmental Features
    • The Map contains an area that includes 3 portals to 3 different realms.
    • Jotunheim is a Icy Realm with extreme freezing temperatures.
    • Vanaheim is a luscious forest based realm.
    • Asgard is a realm of large vibrant fields and abandoned buildings.
    • Unique Obelisks in the form of massive floating runestones.
    • Unique supply drops that look like totem poles
    • Various ruins around the map including things such as-
    • Moria / Khazad-dûm - an attempted construction of the Lord of the Rings Dwarven city, contains Balin’s tomb and the infamous bridge where Gandalf (Ian McKellen) says ‘you shall not pass’
    • Helm’s deep - another construction of the infamous Lord of the Rings fortress of Rohan, contains a complete Hornsburg wall; statues and a cave accessed by the central citadel (Glittering caves)
    • There are several fortresses scattered around the map, located in each biome
    • Several deserted wooden houses are strewn about the map, some with wooden palisade walls, some of these houses are accessible whilst others remain bolted shut.
    • Can you find the infamous Poglin Statue?
    • New species of dinos, including the Blood hungry Desmodus; the almighty Andrewsarchus; the keen eyed Fjordhawk, the fearsome Fenrir and the odd-filed Aberrant Megalania.
    • Giant Beaver Dens containing large amounts of resources
    • An Elemental region inspired cave with radioactive rivers and lakes
    • 200 Runes (serve the same function as explorer notes; each 100 found grant the survivor 5 additional levels) you can find all over the map and the 3 realms
    • All realms contain a wyvern trench being one of two maps with all the wyvern types except the void wyvern, Jotunheim contains ice wyverns, asgard contains lightning wyverns and vanahelm contains poison wyvern
    • On asgard there's also a Rockdrake trench located on 45 50. The area is radioactive so remember to bring the hazard suit
    • Ambient Microraptor and Itchyornis calls in Asgard
I have marked recommended starting areas in blue:

    Some key points to consider:
    • All three locations have easy access to metal if you know where to look.
    • West spawn (North Vardiland) has easy access to a diverse spectrum of biomes and all the advantages that come with that in terms of creatures and resources. Notably, this location has the easiest access to organic polymer (by hunting penguins on the frozen NE shoreline). There is also ample salvage to be taken from shipwrecks on the shoreline.
    • Center Spawn's (South Vannaland) main draw is that it is centrally located to everything. While not the most defensible location, there are some good flat spots further inland, east of the lake, and near the foot of the cliffs that won't require too many walls to be secure. If necessary to be on the shoreline, there is a small river island on the coast with bridges that offers some moderate safety from wandering dinos. This is a good location if you want easiest access to almost everywhere; a good candidate for building a trade hub here.
    • East Spawn's (East Vannaland) key feature is the nearby fortress island (located due north along the eastern shoreline). The area is rich in metal and crystal deposits and with the right technology, there are many oil veins to tap into here. Of the three locations, this is the easiest one to fortify and is the closest access to the redwood forest. However, the biggest drawback to this location is how isolated you will be compared to the rest of the map. Traveling west over the highlands is particularly dangerous and with few good water routes, it will take you significantly longer to reach some locations.
    • The West spawn has easy access to Equus and (unique to Fjordur) Andrewsarchus herds. In terms of utility, both herbivores are great for long distance travel and offer many useful abilities.
    • In the highlands between Center and East Spawns are many Deinonychus nests (which you must steal eggs to tame). This rare predator is fast and lethal in combat and can only be found on Fjordur and Valguero.
    • There are many abandoned fortresses marked on the map (although some remain unmarked). These locations are easy to defend, but often very remote, making them good candidates for building bases without needing much in the way of resources to secure them.
    • Fjordur is actually split across 4 realms. The map shown above is Midgard. Somewhere hidden near the center of this map you will find the Bifrost Gateway to three more realms.

Now with all of Midgard labeled. Keep in mind that there are 3 other realms besides this one.
