Cyberpunk 2077

Has anyone seen this yet? It looks bad ass!

And for all you Witcher fanboys - its being made by the same company.

 

Oh yea, they released that trailer what, a year ago or more? Unfortunately they have not started working on it yet. It is probably going to be 2018 before we see it.

 

Came out in 2012, I believe? They're working on it now, but remaining very hush hush about the details.

Kind of like how Bioware's still remaining silent about Mass Effect 4.

 

Caught wind of this a while ago, but I didn't think much of it, because it's just a CG trailer of a title based on a tabletop RPG. It is indeed in production right now, but obviously the majority of their team is focused on Witcher 3. Their studio is something like 200some people, and half of them are actively working on Witcher 3, with the remainder being split between engine development, and Cyberpunk.

I imagine that we're still a ways off from release, but I think we'll start to get more once Witcher 3 launches. Until then, I'll likely forget about this.

 

Not much news about it. On the other hand no news it is good news, because rage of the fan boyz is not a pretty sight.

They did drop one piece of information: "Cyberpunk 2077 is due to arrive sometime in the 2017-2021 window."

 

Sounds like they're loaded. Sounds like they're planning to finish the game too!

 

They're making a Gwent game, ie the card game from within the Witcher into its own real game, they said in their investor question report that they have like 100 people just working on that and the rest on cyberpunk.

Tuna, did you see if they indicated in their investor question report how many bodies they had assigned to project work at the moment? Last I checked they were at 200ish heads total, but that was back in January.

 

What is this nonsense?

Don't they understand that they need to lay off staff and pay higher dividends now that they have money?

Besides, who spends money on development these days? Can't they just do a quick reskin or create some random generator and call it a game and then spend the budget on marketing? It costs less and produces more profit with less risk.

Silly oldskool production methods. It's all about brand now, not the product, not the quality!

Yea its super Deus Exy, I love it. This is probably my #1 most looked forward to game right now, so I'm sure it will disappoint me somehow.
