Note about DLC: If you don't own one of the team DLC, you CAN play against them but you will not be able to create a team with them. There is now a Blood Bowl 2 league called "Skjaldborg". Current Competitions: Spoiler: Standard This is our permanent competition. Allows you to join with both experienced and new teams. Spoiler: Practice A practice league that only allows for new teams. It's also no risk, no gain. Meaning your players won't skill up and any injuries will disappear after every game. If we get enough interest then more competitions will appear. Some might have special rules or themes
I own the game but have never played. I foresee much wrecking of (my) face. Anyone feel like giving me a demo beforehand I'd appreciate it!
Do we have a start date? Do we have any specific rules? For example, no hitting when down or everything goes?
Theo, we can always do a friendly competition also. Nothing gained or lost. I can be fairly available, when I am not sick
There is no start date for the current two that are up. They are meant to keep going and going for as long as we need them. When we have a more accurate account of how many are playing we can do more tournament style things. For these two, the rules are: everything goes.
Blood Bowl 2 is currently 50% off on steam through the 6th. I'll get off my ass and go pick it up I suppose so I can participate.
Fuck me silly that's a lot of DLCs Edit: oh I see, it's just the "official expansion" and then each race as piecemeal if you're only interested in one of them. I nearly had a heart attack thinking Games Workshop went full on Train Simulator for the DLC on this one.
Luckily you don't need all of them. Only the ones you want as you will be able to play against all of them anyway.
I will buy this because we have a bunch of people who already own it and its on sale. Let's not make this a flavor of the month guys! CURRENTLY WITH 50% SALE ON STEAM UNTIL NOV. 6th!: http://store.steampowered.com/app/236690/Blood_Bowl_2/
Blood Bowl 2 is pretty cool, though except for newer graphics I'm not sure it's any improvement over the original Blood Bowl. The camera controls kind of piss me off, and team options are more limited/expensive to get via DLC.
Yes, it's sad that they went the way they did with the DLC but that is the reality of what the gaming industry looks like today. I haven't felt it to much but that's because many of the DLC were given out for free to those who bought at release. Overall, the game is an improvement. Ofcourse those changes are only ever going to be to graphics, performance, ui and so on. For gameplay to change it would require that Games Workshop rewrites the rules. Yes the new camera isn't that good but it's possible to change back to the one used in previous games.
Fingers crossed. I have gaming on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, but hopefully we can fit a match or 2 in.
I have had a lot of fun playing this weekend and i do hope for more games. It would be great if we could get more people playing. Also made some changes to current competitions. Dropped "Open" as while it can be fun it's also very difficult due to mixed teams. Mixed teams also requires the expansion to be able to play as them. Added "Practice". It's for new teams and is no risk, no reward. Meaning injuries are removed after the match and your players don't make any SPP (basically exp) and so on. For final words i have this: Praise be to Nuffle, for he may smite us at any moment. For what Nuffle gives, Nuffle takes away.
