I intended the guide to only be a VERY rough assessment of the various factions to help newer players decide which best fit their style. There should be a disclaimer on it that a lot of that info is subject to change and there are definitely some exceptions to the general rules. Also, I think it is very possible that the stats are way off on a lot of planes. That said, the Japanese (at least for the moment) still have the worst "selection" of jet fighters... only one. It is also my understanding that all the jets have relatively poor acceleration and are most vulnerable at slower speeds. Therefore, turning battles with a jet should probably be avoided anyway. Don't get me wrong, I think the japanese faction has a lot of potential, but the selection they have for any one tier is just very limited at the moment. Compare them to say... the US at tier 6. Many of the factions just have a much better pool to pick from. Hopefully, one day all the factions will have as many to pick from as the germans.

Day 2: F1M2 is OP. That was all the same plane. It didn't even go down until the last few seconds of the match when I tried to get too aggressive with AAA. I don't know what it is about that plane, but everyone seems to overestimate its speed and underestimate its tail gun.
Stormulus. Really awesome game thus far, reminds me of a newer, slightly more arcade-like Aces High II.
Just had a domination game with 10/3 KD ratio. Best one so far. On a side note, I don't know if it's a psychological but, I have a feeling that every time I get shot down within seconds (without any damage received before hand) is by LaGGs or Il-2s...
I just realized how ridiculous the F2A-3 Buffalo is. took it as my first choice with brand new crew in a tier 6-7 match. Shot down 2 P-39s a Bf-110 and something else (4 kills) before I was finally shot down. Doesn't even have stealth attack ammo or air resistance yet does have upgraded engine. just out runs and out turns everything.
i'll say it again, russian planes aren't all that in this game, just gotta understand their differences. I think Gaijin have done a good job of keeping things pretty balanced.
Noob question--how do you upgrade the ammo, air resistance and engine? I haven't found that option yet. Also, is it worth doing to low level planes that you are just grinding through?
It's the ammo icon above planes pic in the bottom of the screen. There's tabs for different upgrades on that screen if memory serves. If you have extra woolongs you might as well upgrade your lower level planes, so you can have more fun in them, if you use them for grinding or just for lulz. They are quite cheap to upgrade compared to higher tier planes.
I've noticed it takes a LOT of XP to buy the structural upgrades. Is there any way to speed up that process other than just using the same plane over and over?
