Alright some one please explain why a bunch of mostly grown, mostly strait men love ponies more than my little sister. It is a little creepy.
What I've seen and understood the new MLP is actually quite clever and funny cartoon with lot of nice references and jokes. Even the characters are well done and charismatic. For ponies at least. Simply put, it's genuinely a quality cartoon. It being about ponies is just coincidence.
This. Also, some girls have the need to over compensate for their age and they try to consciously avoid anything girly in order to appear more mature. The theory goes that if you don't like girly things then you are more likely to be sexual and interested of boys/men etc. As if a true man eater couldn't be interested in girly things. Boys think the same way though, this for instance - there's nothing in the world that says a tough war veteran and 'hunk' couldn't or shouldn't enjoy MLP for instance. It's all about fundamental attribution error. Some people really fall with that error and try to overcompensate for insecurities by exploiting observed attribution errors. Someone who openly admits of doing something is at the same time at peace with said function and also depending on context socially awkward. Human social rules are such reeking bullshit that it's just better to avoid all human contact as far as possible. Luckily there exists a whole world of people who don't go about their daily lives with ignorance and superficiality.
Anyways, the point is that you shouldn't judge the book by its cover or its readers. As a side note: I find it funny how I'm Touhou fan (and proud of it) and nobody ever gives me shit about it, but MLP fans have to hear all kind crap every now and then. Guess it's much less known for most of us than MLP.

It was kind of like... "Hey, what the hell are these wierdos watching, let's take a look-see" One episode later... "Well, that wasn't too bad, but it was a two parter, lets go to number 2." 20 min later... "This is getting better, what happens next?" Then you're glancing at the clock, halfway through season 1, and realizing you might be late for work the next day. The urge to be insufferable and post pony-related pictures of people's favorite things comes a little later.
I didn't say it was gay, I said it was creepy. You have to realize where I live people go to jail at least once a week for animal cruelty for having sex with their farm animals. I do see the whole more adult than a childrens cartoon should be, but that isn't really helping your case, it just makes it more creepy but on an adult level. I am going to tell you a story and I am not sure it is safe for work: When I first moved here there was this really hot girl I knew from when I was little her name was Terran, and I was invited to her house by her mom. When I got there her mom gave me cookies and soda was real nice, when I asked her where Terran was she said she was down by the barn feeding the animals. So I walked down to the barn, and I have pictures, there she was having sex with a horse, and that is why MLP is creepy.
I was playing in my daughter's room with her with the MLP being run in the background. After a while she started poking me "daddy, I wanna play!". I was mesmerized by the show. It's also handy that I can buy all the ponies I want from Amazon and so and give them to her (officially).
There is just a bit to much sexual innuendo in the my little pony pictures to not get that image out of my mind, I wonder if that counts as PTSD?
Maybe. To be fair though, there are people who get off on it. But you can say that about almost anything. Everyone's got their own brand of weirdness in that area, so as long no one's getting hurt, I'm not judging.
Are you saying you have pictures of this act? Because you said it was creepy but not creepy enough to stop and take pictures? Also the PTSD you are talking about is what I refer to as alpha male inadequacy shock or just male inadequacy shock. It is the shock of seeing a female you have had sexual desires for a long time being with a person you fully deem inadequate and much inferior to you. You would have the same shock if you walked in on her having sex with some 400lb guy that is covered in shit. The main emotions and thoughts that come with it is why, confusion and anger. such as "why would you do that with them?" "why not me?" the confusion part of not being able to understand why you were not chosen over this obviously inferior person to you. The shock of seeing the act totally shatters what ever beliefs, thoughts, and emotions you once had for them. For some anger comes last, lots and lots of anger. Because of the amount of emotional distress, all of the emotions, thoughts, and images are forever burned into your memory.
