THE PRIVATEER INITIATIVE: June 3048
The threat of pirates along the periphery is at an all time high. The "Bandit Kingdoms" are better equipped and better organized than they were twenty years ago. Raiders and slavers have become more daring in their attacks. These attacks will only continue to destabilize the region unless something is done. Determent is no longer enough and a more aggressive solution must be taken. This is also an excellent opportunity to improve relations with our neighboring Steiner and Kuritan realms.

Therefore, the FRR is enacting the "Privateer Initiative" to address this pirate threat. Under the Privateer Initiative, specially selected units will be chosen to represent the FRR and assist either Steiner or Kuritan forces in hunting down and neutralizing specific pirate threats. These units will be under the command of a local liason officer and will be expected to serve with the level of professionalism that brings honor to the FRR and its people.

Units will deploy on a series of rapid strike missions against suspected pirate camps. In some cases, regular House battlemech units may operate in support as needed and if available. Expect combined arms resistance. Enemies should be poorly equipped, but numerous and are unlikely to carry any advanced weaponry. Salvage rights will vary on a case by case basis, but the employer is willing to give some latitude on this option.

New information has been brought to the attention of FRR intelligence that requires work the Skjaldborg Commandos would be well suited for. A suspected terrorist organization cell is causing political instability along the Tamar Pact/Skandia border. You will be working alongside intelligence agents to locate and neutralize terrorist military assets, specifically, their limited battlemech forces. Due to the nature of this mission, absolute secrecy and precision will be required to ensure success. It is likely you will be operating near civilian infrastructure. It is exceedingly important that you follow your liaison officer's orders to minimize civilian casualties and destruction of property. Ground combat for this mission is not expected to last more than a week. Due to the sensitive nature of this mission, further details must be withheld until terms of the contract are signed and gag orders are enacted. Details necessary for completing the mission are with your liaison officer and will be made available upon acceptance of the contract. This mission should be considered PRIORITY ONE; you will have full cooperation from FRR intelligence during the course of this mission.

OPERATION ODIN'S WRATH

FRR leadership is requesting the assistance of a small mercenary command to intervene on the behalf of the FRR regional government and local populace of Skallevoll. A power struggle between two minor lords has gotten out of control and FRR diplomats have failed to resolve the situation peacefully. Skirmishes between the two armies are common place, but no victory seems in sight as neither lord is willing to risk their limited forces in any serious engagement.

Skallevoll is a backwater planet with only minimal industrial capacity so the fighting here is unlikely to affect the FRR in any significant way. However, the loss of life and destruction of property has become extensive enough to warrant the FRR leadership to take a more direct approach. Unfortunately, sending the required regular battlemech units would be a costly solution and unlikely to gain full political support. Therefore, it has been decided that a reliable mercenary command would be a much more cost effective option.

The Skjaldborg Commandos' success on Thule has made then unusually popular in a nation that nominally despises mercenary units. This makes them a prime candidate to deal with this troublesome conflict. This contract is open to any mercenary or private commands of similar caliber so it is possible this offer may be withdrawn if another suitable unit can be found. However, because the list of acceptable commands in the surrounding region is disappointingly short, it is likely this contract may stay open for awhile.

Salvage Rights = 30% Exchange Rights ONLY (for cash)

The main objective of this operation is to neutralize the main force of both armies. Mercenaries will be allowed a certain amount of flexibility to accomplish this goal, but must have prior authorization from their liaison officer. Obviously, capturing both lords alive will be ideal (and carry with it the greatest reward), but other "less delicate" alternative solutions will be allowed. The hired unit is NOT expected to operate in a peacekeeping capacity (a supporting conventional force of FRR regulars will provide this). However, basic precautions must still be taken such as minimizing civilian casualties and destruction of property. You can expect combined arms resistance, however neither army is expected to have much more than a single (possibly reinforced) company of battlemechs. Enemies should be poorly equipped, but numerous and are unlikely to carry any advanced weaponry. Because the FRR command is hoping to salvage and rebuild some portion of what remains of the two armies, Salvage Rights will depend on the outcome of the contract.

I don't know about the third one... getting involved with the squabbles of a population and all. I don't really want to be in a situation where I may have to fire on civilians or do riot control. The first one seems the most secure, and would give us a change to go after Benjamin Badass again. Or maybe get more info on him at any rate.

The secret mission though? It's securt, so that tempts me. Plus, it's a ONE MONTH mission. That's fucking shorttime.

Free Skye is a very complex problem. On the one hand, we Rasalhaguians well know the struggle for freedom and the desire to forge our own destinies. That said, we also owe a debt to the Lyrans for the aid that they provided to us in attaining a nation of our own. While I can sympathize with the movement, I don't find that I can support it, as members of the Steiner's holdings never suffered the level of abuse that we suffered at the hands of the Combine.

Now, if they want to strike at that bloody bastard, the Duke of Tamar... that's a different story.
