fuck yes it did... for that game the whole time we were scrambling to stay out of your LOS. my only concern for you would be to try to minimize blindspots as much as possible. your mech is very vulnerable against faster targets in confined spaces... especially if you have low initiative rolls.

Which he does since he only took Tactics to 2. :p

And I understand you strategy Magnus but why not go all in for playing dont go near me and run an AC/20, 3 medium lasers, ammo and JJs. Slow Hunchie with JJs.. no one in their right mind will go anywhere near it with anything under a heavy cause 1 shot is blowing something off. Or do you consider having the mid range firepower more important than a tremendous short range punch.

if you go short-range area denial (Hunchback in your example) with decent/good tactics skill, then yes... that would definitely work. but going short range with crap tactics is asking for trouble... even in open terrain with no blind spots... certainly no where near as bad as crap tactics WITH blindspots... but still a bit of a gamble. tactics and positioning definitely becoems more important the shorter your engagement range; even an AC/20 boat has reason to worry if 3 fast mechs get into it's rear arc.

so with the eisenfaust in mind and using the previous lance build as an example, i would say you could go two ways with it: focused short range w/ good/high tactics or focused mid range (or a bracket firing loadout of short and long) with average tactics. the average enemy veteran pilot will have level 3 in tactics... so use that as your measuring stick. level 2 in tactics is adequate for most early missions, but you will probably want a minimum of 3 eventually.
