    Well, most people are mechwarriors. Of the ones who have played so far only flessar, me and Orc is playing something thats not mechwarrior.

    Flessar is a tanker while me and Orc are aerospace

    Would it make sense for new players to start after the dropship capture mission, since there will be more transport room? Or is that the plan already? I guess if I'm going to make somebody it would be better to start in the new timeline.

    Well, I was thinking of taking part in the dropship capture mission, actuallly.... I was thinking, for RP purposes, maybe a fleeing mechwarrior from some other part of the IS, landed on this planet some time ago and became stuck. Then you guys drop, and I see my chance of getting off this god forsaken rock. :D Then I could grab my old, crappy mech and join you guys in battle.

    you being the head cheese and all, I could sure use you as a lance commander, but since you already run everything else I can understand if you want to take a "back seat" on this. Also, if you want to chime in on the campaign planning side of things, your input is always welcome.

    If any of you aero guys want to switch out to a mech, i think that can be arranged. We may have a large influx of aerospace players now that people know how to use them (too soon to tell for sure right now). Ideally, I want to keep the ratio of mechs to aerospace around 3:1.


    Since no one is particularly that powerful stat-wise, we are retaining all XP from the test campaign. Because of that, I would go ahead and make your character just so you can get credit for the XP from the remaining mission(s). Just give them a different name than what you want for 3048. When we do the timejump, I'm pretty sure many of us will be giving our characters new names and "facelifts".

    Also, I like Orc's suggestion too. Would be very plausible for us to gain some new recruits from frustrated/ambitious militia members wanting to stretch their horizons.

    I don't think anyone at DropBox will notice (at least not for awhile). If you don't intend to use it all that much (and just for your personal use) you can download the full package there. I would only suggest paying if you ever intend to be a gamemaster is all. Usually, I'm not a fan of pirating software that is actually useful, but a $30 pricetag for JUST HM Aero, I admit, is ridiculous.

    That sounds good, uncle of my main character will join in the early years and pass his mech down to Skwisgaar later on. Problem solved!

    Will we be basically keeping stats the same after the name/story change?

    I'll just have my mech jockey really young... like 17. 23 years of difference would put him at 40 in 3048 :D

    3025 is the starting tech level, current campaign is set in 3038.

    I can't wait. My character won't be around for another year however (he doesn't finish training and join the Skjaldborg until 3049), so I'm probably going to stick with Mr. Larsen.

    Just to clarify, like Swiggles said, the current "test" campaign is 3038. When we make the timejump it will be 3048. I'm flirting with the idea of maybe jumping only to 3047 just to give us breathing room for 3049. I think it would be cool to coincide our campaign with the start of MWO (open beta anyway), but we don't necessarily have to follow that. If people want 3048 asap we can do that instead.

    Just a reminder to any "new recruits" for the campaign, make sure you post the following if you haven't already (or if I haven't updated it yet on the first post):


    NEW PLAYER QUESTIONNAIRE:

    If you haven't previously done so, please fill out this questionaire (feel free to copy/paste as template):

    1) What meeting days are good for you? Is after other SoR stuff on Weds/Sat good? (EDIT-is Sunday better than Sat?):

    2) What timezone are you in or, more specifically, what time of day is good for you?

    3) We are hoping to group people into lances based on times that are convenient for them. Do you have any preferences or suggestions on people you wish to group with?

    4a) At what capacity do you wish to participate:
    Full player involvement = creation of a player character and regular attendance (within reason) and tracking of a campaign (1 mission every 1-2 weeks)
    Full player involvement and mission running = same as first choice but also interested in an administrative/moderator role
    Part-time/Fill-in player = creation of a character, but only occasional participation when time permits (1-2 mission per month)
    NPC player = no character creation and playing only as various NPCs or oppositional forces
    Strictly administrative role = interested in helping to plan a campaign, but not being directly involved in missions
    Cheerleader = can't be involved, but will gladly encourage others

    4b) What type class do you wish to role; Mechwarrior, Aerospace, Tanker, VTOL, other?

    5)Anything not already mentioned you wish to add or ask?
