since Ability XP was refunded, I would like to pick up Weapon specialization: LBX-10 and Cluster Hitter
Weapon Specialization is 20xp, Cluster Hitter is 8. You're 1 point short. I don't know how the conversion changed to make your total smaller than previously.

So here are the options I'm thinking of for myself. Previously I had Jumping Jack and Melee Specialist. I'm definitely bumping Astech to 4, but I still have some left over and some of the new abilities could be really useful. In particular Oblique Attacker (not new I know) would be helpful for my new role, and Multitasker could help with multiple enemies at multiple range brackets (LRMs at distance and MLs short). But then there's Melee Master which gives me 2 hatchet attacks per turn! Help me decide. Current XP: 51 Astech 3->4: 15 Hopping Jack: 12 (Jump to-hit +2 instead of +3) Jumping Jack: 12 (Jump to-hit +1 instead of +3) Melee Specialist: 8 (-1 melee to-hit, +1 melee damage) New XP: 4 OR Current XP: 51 Astech 3->4: 15 Hopping Jack: 12 (Jump to-hit +2 instead of +3) Melee Specialist: 8 (-1 melee to-hit, +1 melee damage) Melee Master: 16 (can do 1 extra physical attack on same opponent in a turn) (stacks with Specialist) New XP: 0 OR Current XP: 51 Astech 3->4: 15 Hopping Jack: 12 (Jump to-hit +2 instead of +3) Melee Specialist: 8 (-1 melee to-hit, +1 melee damage) Sensor Geek: 4 (-2 bonus on sensor checks) Oblique Attacker: 4 (indirect fire penalty reduced by 1) Multitasker: 8 (secondary target penalty reduced by 1) New XP: 0 The first one would replicate what I had before. I think the last one would be the most well rounded. The second is the most devastating up close but I don't plan in being in melee range as much with this mech. Halp!
if you are using an axe, you might as well exploit it for all it is worth; assuming Melee Master allows you to swing twice with the axe, you should grab MM for sure. if not, Hopping/Jumping Jack is always a great choice for combat at short range and avoiding fire at longer ranges. Oblique Attacker is nice when you have a bunch of indirect weapons, but with only one LRM20, I'm not sure it is worth it. If you really want to buff your LRM, Cluster Hitter might be a better option as it improves the number of missiles that hit. I'm not personally a huge fan of Multitasker, but some people like it. I can't recommend having it or not.
