it's even been on the news here in north carolina. specifically on the weather channel. I think partly because of the haze that is moving towards the great plains area.
UPDATE: Finial tally thus far: 2,500 homes destroyed, however about 80-85% of the city was saved by the efforts of the firefighters. Fire is still burning, but the fuel in and around the city is mostly gone. Fire has traveled more to the southeast of the city, towards the Saskatchewan border. However, people are still worried, because the weather is still dry, and the wind could shift back towards the city, which could ignite some of the saved houses.
