So Blizzard's new card game went open beta yesterday. It's a very simple game with easy to learn mechanics, there are however more advanced combos that needs some planning to execute correctly. I played a little this morning and I'm pleasantly intrigued by it. Will probably spend a lot of time learning the game and unlocking new cards. If anyone is interested in trying it out check here:

I'll probably give it a go, although I need to fucking unlock my Bnet account since I put an authenticator on it and since lost hte phone it was on, it requires sending literally a copy of your DRIVERS LICENSE to unlock it.

I just created a secondary one, since it's beta, and not linked to wow in any way I can see. I already have a level 10 priest :)

Funny story. Played World of Warcraft for 8 years straight. Missed almost a decade of other excellent PC games as nothing could distract me. Until Mechwarrior:Online. It rocked so much I cancelled my WOW account after about 4 weeks of beta.

Then....well, MWO became MWO:The Soul Crusher.

So, I've been playing WOW again for about the past year. It was fun. Nostalgia reigned supreme. But, none of my friends play any more and I can't support the time commitment. But, I kept it active to pass the time while watching TV and my 5 year old was really starting to like it.

Then comes HEARTHSTONE. Meh, whatever. Like Dihm, I was never into the CCGs. My friend tried to get me into MAGIC 10 years ago, but didn't like monitization and because.....World of Warcraft.

I blew the thought of playing HEARTHSTONE off as soon as I saw it. Until, that is....their marketers grabbed hold of me. With only 3 WINS (in a FREE to play game, mind you) I could get a BRAND SPANKING NEW MOUNT for my World of Warcraft account. Ok, I'll bite.

Well, it bit me. Hard. <insert fellatio jokes here>

So, 3 weeks later I have cancelled my WOW account and have a new favorite game. It's fresh, it's fun and it's free. It follows Blizz's mantra of simple to learn, hard to master. And everything about this game appeals to me. It's got humor. It can be played for 15 minutes or 15 hours. I can mindlessly play while watching TV or against better opponents really tax my brain of formulating complex strategies from limited resources.

So, until SC:DFM or MWO:CW give us some love, this is my nightly refuge.

    Anyone care to play?

My battle.net account is kai.breinholt@gmail.com or Battlenun #1218

If anyone would care to share their Battle.net ID's here I'd love to add you as friends.

fucking ipad version, why the hell does everyone release the fucking ipad version first? if any of these retarded developers actually have a thought that doesn't involve 'hey, let's release the fucking ipad version before we release the android version, because, fucking ipad' I'll probably die of shock :p I really wish Jobs had had a dead man switch to make all the apple products of the world turn into deadly robots so I could point and say 'hah! I told you they were evil!'

I played it.. it was not terrible. I think if I am going to play a card game online though, I would play MTG.

    You mad, bro?

To answer your question though: Even though there are more android devices out there than iPads, there are VASTLY more iPads out there than any single android device. So, they only have to code/test for basically ONE piece of hardware. And actually, I see this changing. I used to have android phone, and could never find the business related apps for it from vendors. Always iPhone. Now that I have a company provided iPhone and iPad, the things I want seem to come out for Android first.

Oh well. But to sum up:

    1. Hearthstone on the iPad is more fun than on the PC.
    2. Steve Jobs? Yeah, fuck that guy, though.

Fuck Apple.. From the experiences I have had with my old iPhone to my Android phone I will never buy an Apple product again. Plus my Mac at work.. I said fuck OSX and put Windows 7 on it.

It was fun, but I had to unistall it because I get so frustrated during losing streaks that I feel like punching my screen.

    So much this!

When I'm trying out a new class I often jump straight into RANKED PLAY and get my ass handed to me. Too many Legendary and Epic cards. But, I just go back to causual play and have fun.

yeah, they seriously need to put a maximum number of legendary cards on the deck, otherwise the game will always be 'ptw' simply because you pay more money, you're more likely to have a ton of overpowered legendary's to get you the win (you still have to use them correctly, so there'll always be some measure of skill required, but still) I've got a few good legendary cards, but I've seen as many as twelve legendary drops in one game by another player :p

12? 12!!!! Wow...that is just so.....yeah. I hope with updates they will include the option to limit card level.
i.e. Lengenday and lower. Epic and lower. Rare and lower. Basic cards.

Now, for a game that is fun as hell without spending a dime, I think this would only lessen the desire to spend money on upgrades. So, probably won't happen.

basically the way I've been playing it is I play just for the daily quests, fulfill whatever requirements they have, and if I'm close enough, I'll go for a pack but only if I'm within a couple wins (i.e. 10g) usually this equates to a pack every other day, more or less, sometimes the daily is worth more than other times (one of the dailies is 7 wins for 100g with any character) my take on legendaries is they should be limited to a total of 4 per deck, period. anything more than that just increases the chances of the game being swung wildly because the player got a crazy string of legendaries.

I love arena mode, you don't play against pay to win decks.
