Mission Making

    I have started making missions for ARMA 3. I have played around a lot in the editor but have never done a mission for other to play until now. So far i have made a PVP mission and have started working on a PVE mission.

    The mods I'm using are:
    All in ARMA map pack
    RHS
    Leigths Opfor pack
    ACRE
    All of the shacktac mods

    I have also started experimenting with ACE3.

    All mods are the latest version.

    If anyone have a suggestion for a mission write what map, mission type and what factions.

    What I find most annoying is choosing how many people the mission is designed for. There is a large difference between a 5 man and a 20 man. Also the risk of creating something for too many players or too few

    That why you might think about including Zeus in the game. Give someone access to Zeus, so you can add stuff as needed.

    Yeah, I have given it a thought.

    Right now I'm mostly working around a 20 man limit. The amount of AI I add is based around that number. So if you are fewer then 20 the mission will be harder. Now if there would be more then 20 players the problem would be not having enough player slots and even if i add Zeus it won't solve that problem. If we do reach that point and do it regularly. I will simply move up a scale and design for 30 people or whatever is appropriate.

    For PVP I tend to go higher in player slots as the players can balance it themselves by what teams they join.

    The PVP mission i was working on is finished. Just need to double check so that everything is right.

    The PVE mission is almost done. All that remains is adding the playable units.

    A way around that (in addition to including Zeus/MCC) might be to create multiple objectives for groups greater than 5 to split up among themselves. Same number of people per objective, but they either get done simultaneously or in sequence depending on the group.

    I suppose the trick, then, would be to keep the mission parameters from tangling up. Make them non-linear and inclusive so A+B+C=D no matter which order A, B, and C are completed in.

    That's a good idea and i will probaly create something like that. Any idea for map and theme (counter insurgency, special forces or regular military operations)? Possible missions?

    Right now, I still need to finish the PVE mission mentioned before. Not sure if im making it 19 man or 23 man. Depends on if i include a command group or not. After that i have some plans for an 8 man mission. Which will most likely be followed by a mission along the lines of what you suggested. I might do a training mission at some point aswell.

    Once the mission is done i will probably create a new thread where i write some basic info about the mission and have a donwload link and so on.
