Actually the FCC is required to make sure ISP's are expanding broadband and that a certain amount of the US has access to it (from more than one provider!) So, if the FCC raises the requirements for broadband, then it means they can go after ISP's for being a "monopoly" since in most areas only one provider if any offer internet at 25 Mbps.

Also, the cowardly americans are not ready to die for their country. All the proper armies indoctrinate their soldiers on the necessity to die in order to win wars - it is well known outside USA that wars are won by sacrificing more soldiers than the other side. Just look at WW2 eastern front - russians sacrificed way more men and they utterly crushed Germany.

Then the silly americans tag along in our continental wars with their armored airplanes that don't seep rocket fuel into the cockpit and don't fly their bombers into enemy tanks.. Their nonsense and sheepish ways keep destabilizing the world and nature of warfare. Their most recent debauchery involves stealthy bombers, which is absurd - bomber pilots should be willing to die for their country, not hide behind technology! And things like cruise missiles and drones. Whatever next, soon they'll have robotic soldiers so they can keep avoiding making any sacrifices.

It's about time you stop all this foolishness and get back to basics. Human wave tactics, fire some artillery over your own advancing troops. Fly a couple of stealth bombers into enemy tents. Steer a carrier to shallows and fire at enemy ground troops with AA weapons when they try to finish you off. Put pilots on your cruise missiles and aerial bombs. Better yet, start building rail artillery and put men inside those rounds! Forget about guided munitions, just have gazillion rockets and fire them in every direction.

    It will be fucking epic.

If there's one thing the US is really good at, it's fighting. Maybe we should switch our economy over to focus on war material and start hiring oursevles out.

I actually sometimes pity mobs in RPG's as they can be stupid. Really stupid.

Not very well. If we had a price sheet we could make it so much more efficient.

    Overthrow Dictator: $45 billion
Set up puppet government: $120 billion
Assassinate local tribal leader: $ 35 million

You could of course always build the whole country as a spartan style military camp / military society. Barrack socialism and all, no money, everyone is a soldier and so on. When not hired, you'd work maybe on 2-4 days of the week on mundane tasks and the rest of time would be drills.
Since you didn't have money, it would be only about allocating the desired number of people on different tasks. Your nation would still require pay for it's services so you could use that money to buy shit from abroad.

"Recruit 1 cavalry brigade for 1 month"
Special offer, if you recruit 2 cavalry brigades you get an AC-130 squadron free of charge for same duration!

The only condition would be that only one side of a conflict can hire you. Otherwise it would be awkward with chinese dumping the value of their currency, printing money and hiring you guys to fight each other.

Also, a video clip of an iroquois indian charging at you with a stick and no helmet and you're firing at him with 5mm minigun, multiple rounds hitting head and also the eyes and blood flying in the air but no impact. The guy just keeps coming. "Shit, my bullets do no damage because I haven't spent a lot of time practicing the use of heavy weapons" - nevermind all that, after hundred rounds any weapon you have will suffer from breakdown, barrel falls off and stock and handle disintegrate into a million pieces, because, pseudo-realism - an ak-47 will break out after firing 3 clips. But hey, you can still carry 50 of them in your backpack so you can keep rebuilding the one you use indefinitely.

I didn't mind wear and tear too much. Especially in New Vegas where you had repair kits and perk that allowed you to use similar stuff for repairs. Repair assault rifle with pretty much any other rifle and so on.
Weapon damage tied to skills is a bit odd indeed, but you have to force players into choices somehow. It would ruin the skill system if weapon skills were next to pointless. Gameplay before realism, as the saying goes.
I usually go with either light or energy weapons. I had couple of fun RP characters who were almost purely melee. Very fun and different to play.
