Same here. We have had snow cover only once and it lasted only about 2-3 days.

Historically this region should have permanent snow cover between 26th November and 6th December. This time we're definitely going past New Year's before getting snow. In fact I haven't seen any snow in weeks.

Given that Sun is beyond horizon for only like 2 hours a day it's pretty fucking dark. Official length of day is less than 5 hours but today at 11 am it was still not visible in the horizon and it set back below it around 1.30 pm or so. It's already perfect dark after 3 pm. There are no leaves on the trees, there is no ice, nothing.

It was never like this when I was young. I remember when I was 7 for instance we'd already be ice skating and skiing daily and making snow castles early into December.

Now we're having warmer weather than around June, temps often peaking June's. Which is pretty fucked up if you ask me.

It's not just this one year. On average snow isn't coming very early, it's the norm these years that we don't have perma cover by Christmas, if we do it's a rare exception.

70 here yesterday in NJ... AND ITS GONNA RAIN THE WHOLE WEEK. So much snow wasted.
