You try playing a sport when you have to hold back 99.9 percent of your strength. An incorrectly aimed ball from him could take someone's head off.

 

Yamcha throwing a baseball as fast as he could would be like a railgun. Remember he beat recoome on king Kai's planet, which recoome beat vegeta even after a few power ups.


Yamcha is technically powerful enough to destroy a planet if he wanted to. He would be a god if he was real in our universe.

Shouldn't he be the best player with his powers? Also he was a good one if jot great. Well better than average. Heck even if he doesn't use his powers it looks like he keeps up some training shouldn't he be near the top (physically at least) because of his martial arts? Maybe skill wise he is just average.

 

if you were superhuman, would you really want the rest of society to question your successes? better to be mediocre getting paid than superstar under investigation for illegal substances and whatever else they can come up with.
