Torn - I have a list of movies I'd love to see, made from books but at the same time I kinda don't want to see them made into movies given how the industry is at the moment.

They just need the right director is all. The Peter Jackson to their LotR. The Ridley Scott to their Electric Sheep.

They need to at least halve all of those prices. I love how it already only has 1.5 stars and doesn't release for a month and a half.

Did they take it down? I can't find it. Could be a regional thing though.

It's the Amazon.de site from which I buy half my stuff, the other half from the .co.uk.

Some funny stuff, I bought an RS232 chip recently and the manual starts with "Damit man".

Yea, I'm looking for a 1-6 box now in bluray, I don't need the newer ones. I realized recently that when I long ago packed up and left for Bottomland (literal translation of Ostrobothnia) I only packed my computer and like two sets of clothing which was mostly what I owned at the time but I left my books, movies and games behind and never got all of them back. I like watching some of my favorite movies on every Father's Day and this has been something that I never got around to fixing until now - being able to go through the SW movies.

I have Disney+ so yeah. All the movies are there. I guess the UK version of Disney+ is soon (preorder is up I think). Would Finland use the UK one?

Disney Plus is finally coming to the UK and Europe on March 24, bringing 'The Mandalorian' and Baby Yoda with it

    https://www.businessinsider.com/disney-plus-uk-europe-launch-march-24-2020-1

Though at 6 euros a month it might be better to go for the Blu-ray. I guess it also depends on WHICH version you are looking for (I think the ones on Disney+ are the latest edits. Like super extended directors cut 2.5 or something like that).

How about, like, pay 6€ to watch through the Mandalorian on one go and so, I don't care if I am pathetic but I just don't feel like subscribing to a service that is not meant for White Men. Or even better, go see it at your friend's place and spend the 6€ on candy.

I don't follow the Marvel stuff but Deadpool was fun. I have a hard time standing the pseudo-vikingness of Thor, most of the others don't really touch me as I mostly read Spider Man and Iron Man comics and somehow never got around to the movie depiction of Spider Man. Iron Man was quite nice even if a little bit meh to me.

In short it's pretty much the Mandalorian that I may wait to see two or more seasons on one go. I also have catching up to do with Clone Wars and Rebels although the Rebels didn't quite get me hooked from the little I watched it.

That's just me, though. My focus was heavily on history books and Horus Heresy until recently - now I mostly study during the day and work in the evening. Maybe 15 minutes of Brutal Doom for stress release! :omg:

Apparently they cast Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano in the 2nd season of the Mandalorian.

Well, I wonder if we're going to see any of the Rebel's crew, considering the last one I remember holding the darksaber was Sabine Wren, though apparently she handed it over to Bo-Katan Kryze as leader of the Night Owls in hopes of restoring the Mandalorians from Imperial control. Also it'll be interesting to see Ahsoka all grown up and in the non-animated version.

Even better. They can remove those movies using an in universe mechanic introduced in Rebels. The time travel force thing.

Or just going Disney on it and saying "oh, you know what, we had some coffee and donuts and our intern suggested we just declare them to no longer be canon and since we own the IP legally we merely announce it's no longer canon".

I don't even care if any of this is rumor or real, I just want some fan to make a rehash some Star Wars tropes into a video about recovering some stolen footage of a better version of Ep7 and playing keep away from Darth Mouse while attempting to get the data to the Alderaan convention.

Related to Star Wars, our local theater is playing Empire Strikes Back on it's main screen without subtitles!

100% going to see it. I'm so glad that there's an opportunity for grognards to enjoy some honest to God plain Star Wars on the silver screen once more, considering I've not had much of a chance previously to see them in real theater setting.

I've heard about theaters showing empire in 4k having to now show it in 2k. I don't think that is it though.

Yea, I've seen movies that you can rent now for 18€, it costs me 10€ to see them on a massive theater screen in nearly empty theater or 13€ for the 3D version which is really good.

If we're talking about individual persons it's not good to as an instinct to assume the worst. However we're talking about a corporation that has well established itself as being unscrupulous and they have themselves announced they don't like the old fans - especially if they're white men like me.

Yet I didn't know of the 4k plan until now and second, there isn't a single movie out there this summer that I'd bother to go and see. If there are a couple of movies that would move me, they're mostly made in the 80's or before. Original trilogy and first two Alien movies would certainly do.
