This fight has been a tough one. Over the course of the week, both sides have sustained significant casualties, but neither side can really claim to have the upper hand. While we have succeeded in obtaining a foothold in Hawick, the battle has been slow and costly in its progress. The more heavily fortified Thule City still remains firmly in ronin hands.

After reviewing the current situation I have decided to bring Turn 2 to a close. Both sides only have a few units that are still battle worthy and rather than force players to fight with them, I'd rather we get everyone repaired so they can go back to fighting with their own characters. In the next 24 hours I will be posting more information on making repairs. Lance Leaders, I will need to meet with each of you.

For the duration of Turn 3 the ronin will be sending their counter-attack and we will be on the defensive. "Prepare your anus." :angrymob:

I am also considering implementing a new feature in regards to repairs. I'm calling it "Priority Repairs". This will allow players to choose a handful of units for immediate repairs as opposed to waiting for the end of each turn cycle. Their of course will be limitations, however. It will cut in to the pool of repair time you have for the whole week and there will be a maximum threshold of time that can be given for Priority Repairs. Hopefully, this will allow more active players to drop with their characters more often as opposed to having to wait on everyone else. There will obviously need to be some game balancing, but I'm hoping it will give us a bit more flexibility when determining force composition.

I am also in real need to have our Lance Leaders and Admin step up to the plate in terms of helping me with the campaign. Trying to set up three missions at the same time last night really put me in a foul mood. My apologies to anyone if I was a bit harsh to you. The details are something best left for a separate conversation, but a few things that would really help me:

-Clear & Concise Scheduled Times: This one is HUGE. I'm not going to herd cats anymore. If you guys want to drop as a organized lance, I need Lance Leaders to step up to the plate and muster their assigned lances. That means YOU, MR. LANCE LEADER, need to find out what time everyone in your lance wants to drop and let me know in a manner that is clearly understood.
-Reading and Following Format: This is also a big one in terms of repairs and customization. DO NOT TAKE SHORTCUTS ON THIS. If you want repairs or customization done, you MUST follow the procedures set in place. Failure to do so will result in your request being denied until the problem is resolved.
-Commitment To Communicating: If you can't make it to a drop, I expect you to at least communicate this. Lack of communication translates to me that you are too busy to care. That is fine, but don't expect me to keep you on the active roster so you can farm XP.
-Map Designers: We've been over this before, but our battle format has changed and with it, so have our map parameters.
-Being Punctual: I'm not expecting flawless execution, but I am drawing a line in the sand on this one. Players will be given a 30 min grace period after the scheduled meeting time. If after 30 minutes, a player still hasn't shown, the mission launches without them with their character being controlled by someone else. If there is a repeated pattern of being late/missing drops, at the GM's discretion (and with input from Admin/Lance, the player's character may be removed from the campaign.

Please keep in mind that most of you have actually been doing really well and I'm not really mad or anything at anyone in particular. All I know is that I cannot keep doing what we did last night. I just need to delegate some of the responsibility or we are going to have to dumb down the format significantly. Thank you all for your continued participation. I hope you all are having fun and if some of it hasn't been so fun, please let me know so we can improve it.

As a final request, please use this thread to let me know your thoughts on the campaign and the progress so far.

Would it help you out if one of the admins was available to run missions in your stead? Say one of our lances has a time they can drop but you know you won't be around. If you can set up the ronin forces and MULs ahead of time one of the other admins that has done this a few times can actually run the missions as the Op4 and make sure the MUL files get to their correct dropbox locations. I'm not sure how we'd do the secondary skill check rolls, maybe just record them and let you figure out the results later on.

    Campaign Tweaks:

    Up for discussion:
Priority Repairs: (mentioned in previous post)
-Only ONE mechanic may be designated to give Priority Repairs (subject to change... maybe two would be better... especially if we include ammo replacement part of this)
-Priority Repairs may be done at any time by the Lance Leader
-When the mechanic runs out of time to do Priority Repairs, DO NOT ADVANCE THE DAY (the "day" is not advanced until the end of the turn)

FOR ONE TIME ONLY, players can do a Secondary Skill swap:
-Secondary Skills play a much larger role than before now
-Players may do a straight swap of one Secondary Skill for another
-This is to help balance lances that have three characters with Tech or Negotiation (unnecessary), but no one with Leadership (required for Lance command) or Tactics (highly recommended).
-Players do not get XP "refunded", you simply swap out one skill for another; Negotiation 3 -> Tactics 3

Yes, a thousand times, yes :)

I should write some more tutorials on it. I think that would help a lot.

Well, I can already do all that :p Also... remember Magnus, if it would make it any easier on people, we could switch to two week long turns, instead of a single week per each. This may also solve some other issues with drop times, etc.

Other than that, I hope everyone is enjoying our RP brainchild. :D
