*Sips coffee and ranks up the music.*

    Daily log.

    Yesterday we engaged Lyran "ambush".
    Cored a Warhammer. *smile*
Saladin pilot was quite wasted. Shouldn't have been drinking with Matthias (Crave) the day before.
Rest of the enemies got away.
Need to to be less sarcastic when negotiating for surrender. People hate it.
Captured Warhammer pilot was evasive. Dodgy. Not much specific information. Seemed decent individual though.
Note to myself: Buy black, red and blue paint. For a decal.
Another note to myself: Put the knife somewhere safe when in a mech. It tends to fly around in cockpit during fights. Problematic.

    End of log.

Complementary Log Matthias Wagner, Planet Kobe, Federated Commonwealth, Friday October 6th 3048, Epsilon Lance

While Dave spend his time in the training simulator (+XP) and Hunter decided to do some tinkering on his machine (+Quirk), i thought it would be a much better idea to to go drinking with the sexy tech from 3rd Company (+Fatigue). Thankfully, command decided to gift us with a scout vehicle for this mission. As the always responsible and totally not hungover Scout of Epsilon i decided to use a giant AC20 strapped to Hovercraft as our support (Saladin). Using my incredible Recon abilities, Epsilon proceeded to move into a Lyran ambush. As planned, the now trapped enemy force, standing between us and our escape vector, had nowhere to run. Epsilon, deciding to give our foe (Warhammer, Sentinel and Griffin) a chance, valiantly manouvered behind cover.
After baiting their Griffin into looking down the barrel of our Saladins AC20, we began our advance on the Warhammer. The Sentinel, foolishly anticipating Epsilon would try to run towards escape, found himself far away from his teammates, unable to give them cover while we advanced. With the support of our hovertank, Hunter, Dave and myself focused our fire on the Warhammers center torso. With nowhere to run, the Warhammer made one last stand against Hunters medium laser might. With the Warhammers reactor going critical in the distance, the saladin and my panther moved in on the Griffin, that had made a desperate attempt to get behind us. Dave tactically manouvered his Hunchback on his face, presumably to keep a lower profile.
Now suddendly outgunned and outpositioned, the lyran forces decided to retreat. Hunter, knightly as ever, decided to try talking down the pilot of the now badly battered Griffin. Despite being privy to Hunters best mead anectodes, the Lyran refused to give up and managed to retreat. The almost undamaged Sentinel, although under heavy fire from Epsilon, headed towards safety. Our rather incompetent Saladin pilot is to blame for this, managing to "manouver" into almost every rock in the interception vector and consequently being out of position to deliver a final blow to the enemy.

Epsilon, with no casaulties and only minor damage, proceeded back to base.

Fuck binge drinking. Let Matthias drag me and that rookie Toromond along for mead then abandoned us for that girl from maintenance, but that didn't stop me from getting drunk without 'em! Eyes burn and my head aches. I've been hearing some messed up things about OpFor from the other lances. Warhammers and Zeuses, 4 assault mechs lying in ambush. Decided I'd pull a few favors from the old VTOL buddies. We got us some scouts for the mission; two ferrets with machine guns, nice little eye in the sky and annoying if ya leave em alone too long.

On top of that I managed to convince command to send in two Harrasser missile platforms. Nice speedy fire support, great for countering the ambushes I've been hearing about. That's another thing, whoever we're up against seems to have good intel on our movements with all these ambushes... or so I'd like to believe. It's an even chance that we're just wandering into their formations. Toromond had me convinced he knew a pub nearby wher I could take care of some of my hangover.

Some hair of the dog that bit me sounded nice, but instead he ended up leading us into an ambush. 4 enemy mechs came up from behind us including a hunchback, a Wolfhound, a Striker, and a Whitworth. They got us hard early on, knocking Kavellerist Moros on his ass and routing our LRM support. We recovered quickly though, the rookies went to work on disabling their hunchback and I coordinated the support on keeping their Wolfhound routed. He seemed intent on getting a good sniping position but the VTOLs kept him moving. It got to the point where he focused his attention entirely on them, even punching one out of the sky. Rotor's gone, but the VTOL itself is intact, should be able to repair it and send it back in good enough condition. Pilot's pissed though, owe him a drink.

The Striker and Whitworth joined the fight a bit too late. The new recruits did a great job cutting their teeth against the hunchback until eventually we routed the enemy mechs close together and started knocking them down one by one. Literally, the lance rendered the hunchback immobile when Toromond blew its leg off. I then managed to get behind the striker and accidentally blew it up instead of disabling it. The remaining wolfhound and Whitworth tried to escape northward, but we managed to cut em off. Moros got his revenge and legged the Whitworth as it tried to make a run for it, and I brought the LRM buggies up north to tear into that Wolfhound from behind what he thought was adequate cover and knocked him down. We managed to convince them to surrender.

    End results:

1 mech destroyed, 3 captured. 4 Pilots captured.
    Will interrogate when possible.

Not a bad haul. Makes me wish we were getting scavenging rights.

Gamma lance, no casualties but some damaged sustained, successfully completed the mission.

Toromods official request for modification of contact report.

There was sufficient Intel that the pub in question was at the stated coordinates. It is this mechwarriors opinion that he does not have control of where the opfor drinks as well.
