someone care to explain why the M4A3E2 (heavy tank) has weaker frontal armor than the most basic sherman? my guess is that the jumbo sacrificed frontal armor for better turret armor, but something just seems off here. other than that, I really like the US tank lineup. it looks like it will be far less hateful to use that the WoT ones were. can't wait to see what they do for the US tank destroyers
Yours must be broken.. I keed. There are two plates on the upper glacis. One at 64mm and the other at 38. Also.. I may have an idea why people are having so much trouble killing the Chaffee (lots of forum complaints about internals not taking crits like they're supposed to) Spoiler "You see, Ivan? Keep tank boolets in alternate dimension, enemy cannot explode them!"
See? I told you American were awesome. The M4A1 is at a perfect BR for it too, when it's your highest tank you do just fantastically with it.
Taunting? I feel I may not put the same onto the Jumbo 76 when I'm driving it. I'll be up against PantherA's at that tier and APCR can go right through the front hull. :\
Is the Locust as terrible as it seems to be or am I doing it wrong? I've given up attempting frontal assaults with it. I tend to use it for flanking and spotting, but even then I seem to just die a lot without ever killing anything.
Locust is love. Locust is life. don't try to fight much with it, stay moving and cap quick and get out.
Only ever stick in the tip, then leave them wanting more. Take shots from the side and back and scoot away
I've earned my Chaff finally - it's an interesting tank to say the least. What I do like how decidedly NOT FUCKING SLOW it is up a hill, which makes it all the more fun when looking for a perch to rain death down from. Aside from the obvious suggestion that it would stay at "just the tip", this is sound advice. However, don't be afraid to engage. Because of the sheer speed and small size of the M22, I snuck up behind and mercilessly butchered 3x PzIV F2s in rapid succession before the first one could respond, drove past the fourth one, went around the building, skilled a StuG and then somehow snuck up behind the last PzIV and murdered him too. This happened in about the space it took to ram 5 shells in a 37mm. It really is THAT quick.
Finished Tier 1 this morning. Sure, the light tanks are fun, but nothing has lulz factor like an MGC with dual fitties getting 5 air and 3 ground kills in a game.
yeah those armor piercing incendiaries on the .50 cals. holy shit that thing is OP if you get behind someone. Only tier 2 american tank I have at the moment is the sherman (I think i'm halfway on the light tank though the m5? the one the m3s go to.)
The Sherman's are fun, but at Tier 2, they have a very wide BR spread so you get dragged into a lot of higher tier stuff. I'm hoping the introduction of US Tank Destroyers makes the US a stronger contender in Tier 2. Until then, it seems the US tanks are strongest in the 1.3, 2.3, and 5.0 BR ranges.
Just got Locust. Agreed, it is life. Best battle was vs a M3 Lee, I rear rammed him, he couldn't shoot low enough to hit me, so I just get peppering him with about 10 shots until he died.
I'm almost done researching the Locust, then I'm going after the quad fitty before I start on Shermans.
the T2 Shermans are weird; a complete departure from the US light tanks. Whereas the US light tanks you are free to be as fast and aggressive as you want, the T2 Shermans you have to play closer to that of the Panzer IVs in the German line. The basic Shermans have a good gun for their tier, but are highly prone to ammo explosions because they have three stores placed high in their hull and are very easy to hit. Once you get to the T3 Shermans, this weakness is eliminated and (with a much faster speed) lets you use Shermans for flanking and other more mobile tactics. But for the T2 Shermans, keep your distance and keep your hull pointed straight at your enemies.
