They made almost ten times their projected goal for the project, and they have two good videos displaying their product. Not sure if a thread for this exists already. Got linked to it from another game I'm interested in called overgrowth.
Your link is a bit...off there Tzeentch. I assume this is where you meant to link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1523379957/oculus-rift-step-into-the-game?ref=live Also, yeah, it looks pretty awesome. I would love to see MWO have support for it, though I don't think it would serve much actual practical purpose...besides being damn awesome, that is.
I saw the kickstarter, but the low levels didn't give anything so I didn't bite, but definitely cool concepot
Actually creators said that they would prefer if only developers would back their project since its unfinished version and consumer one would work at higher resolution and refresh rate.
Well super necro but hey, pre-orders start Jan 6th! https://www.oculus.com/en-us/blog/oculus-rift-pre-orders-to-open-on-jan-6/
color me excited, I've been waiting for the chance to play with something like this since I was a kid using vr setups in shopping malls. The thought that I might get to play something like ARMA or DCS or even R6Siege with it would be
I'm waiting on price. Probably going to pre-order one soonish. This might be what causes me to upgrade my Mobo and Processor.
Biggest thing holding me back are computer specs. You have to run two screens at 60+ fps. What kind of set up do you need to run Star Citizen like that?
thankfully the new laptop should be able to run it, while it has a 4th gen i7-4870 it also runs a desktop graphics card. Going to have up the dual processor mars 760 to a 980ti or its successor.
Yeah, I'm not throwing several hundred dollars into upgrading my rig just so I can throw several hundred more at a VR headset. I'd rather put all of it towards the rig and stick with my dual monitors.
$300 is what they originally promised, don't think they'll be able to stick to it, but I don't expect it to go over $500. The fact that they didn't release the price yet makes me think its over 300.
I'm pretty sure if I try to wear a monitor for a hat I'll just wind up spilling beer all over my keyboard while I fumble blindly.
