Getting back into TF2 and saw The Engineer Bible recommended from reddit. Forty minutes of gameplay, some helpful tips, and a great new song later, was not disappointed. Had to check to be sure since I had not seen it in years, but the piano initially reminded me of Porco Rosso.
Omg... this is so beautiful. Another song to make you cry. I just want to close my eyes so I can better concentrate on the essence of it and lose myself. Lyrics (english translation) : I hear the evening cornbird calling. Moonlight floods the fields of tasseled grain. Wood smoke, drifting veils the distant valleys. Summer evening's joy is here for me. I'm not happy yet no sorrow shakes me, but the dark woods stillness I would welcome. Rosy clouds through which the day is falling, sleepy breezes from the blue gray mountains, shodows on the water, meadow flowers... out of these my heart's own song I'll make! I will sing it, summer hay-sweet maiden, sing to you my deep serenity, my own faith that sounds a swelling music, oak-leaf garland ever fresh and green. I'll no longer chase the will-o-wisp. Happiness is here in my own keeping. Day by day, life's circle narrows, closes. Time stands still now ... weather cocks all sleeping. Here before me lies a shadowy way leading to a strange, an unknown place.
So... there's this thing going around Japan by the name of Baby Metal. What is Baby Metal you ask? Baby Metal is the unholy love child of Death Metal and J-Pop.
That might have been posted a while back. But yeah, deserves are repost. Mostly because WTF awesome. The band in the background fucking ROCKS it.
I was bit pessimistic about that working, but I actually liked it. If you have only good memories of all the classic 8-bit platformers (Mega/Rock Mans, Castlevania's, Mario 3 etc.) you can't go wrong with Shovel Knight. Simply excellent game. OST alone is worth it. Risk of Rain is small but quite darn fun rogue-like. Basically you are trying to escape hostile planet where you crash landed. Kill monsters, get loot, get better and hope RNG doesn't fuck you over. Simple yet addicting.
Thought I would share one of the songs my new band has been writing: https://soundcloud.com/chris-weber-9/suffer-wip
Haha, agreed! Babymetal isn't my thing, but I appreciate the talent and successful melding of genres. Only issue I have with the vid is the fact that the band slays and you only get about a 300ms shot of the guitarist during his solo. =/ Sounds great, can't wait to hear the final version. Do you guys play any live sets? I pass through Madison fairly often, maybe I could align something to see you live!
We are finishing off a full set right now. We are going to start playing shows late september. We got delayed because the singer (who also plays the guitar) broke his humerus and is going to be in therapy/brace for at least another month.
Finally found two tracks from a game that I loved watching an LP of by my favourite Youtuber about half a year ago.
continuing along on my journey into new wave retro and in celebration of recent developments in megamek: buy it here: http://street-justice.bandcamp.com/track/mechwarrior
