Is this even legal to call it that? I guess that's up to a bunch of lawers if it gets funded. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1374586803/mechwarrior-amadarite?ref=recently_launched And while the other 'mechwarriors' are pretty unique I'm fairly certain that first one is heavily inspired by the iconic MadCat. Bold move though, I'll give him that.
I'm going to guess the title will turn into a problem. If you feel you must back it, please do so AFTER the cease and desist order followed by a name change and/or the bankruptcy of the people making this.
omg... thats a bit embarassing that even made it on to kickstarter. looks like people have brains though.. only 1 backer atm
Hardly the first time some economic type reads up on business magazine of a wonderful place where fools give you free money with no collateral. Then exquisite marketing plans are made and sometimes there's even a game attached. You know, you get to fly space fighter, build your own empire, adventure in Mayan ruins fighting nazi zombies, research technology, fight co-op vs. AI that uses neural networking, it all is accessible on iOS and Android, you can advance faster with micro-payments, you can level up your character and empire with micro-payments and unlock special areas of the Mayan temple with Crystals, in-game currency. And don't forget that there's also co-op online ladder time-shift PvP that mixes in PvE and MOAB and physics puzzles. Sometimes their get the spelling wright and a sentences that are cool and very much fluent.
At the very least, unless they've already squared away with Microsoft, using Mechwarrior in their title is Trademark infringement. Until they've posted something about licencing/getting permission to use the IP, I wouldn't back it. That or they change the name.
Kickstarter is increasingly devolving to a place that business types who don't even like games try to raid for free loot. Then there are people who promise to make a million things and just fail. It looks like that even the people who aren't merely raiding it for loot are often mismanaging their production, becoming disheartened over time and when those two are combined there's little to no hope of recovery for a project. Then there's also some very epic success stories too which on their own more than justify the service's existence.
I can only assume they must be referring to a rock of crack. That's the only damn way this thing makes sense...
"The Godnarons, are an advance creepy Alien race which are soly designed for the purpose of destruction. " That's some world building right there.
