"The PS4 is going to be backwards compatible." I am pretty sure they said it will NOT be backwards compatible due to massive changes in firmware... Also IIRC the X-Box one will not need to always online Just the first boot each day (ofc that is pretty much the same thing for many people but still) again i might be wrong. As for the whole "pre-owned game" issue... All i can say is welcome to PC-gaming the last 10-ish years. Now ofc what most people seem to not get about the XBox ONE (yes most stupid name ever) is that the market they are going for is the Wii market.. Casual gamers that only get one console and want it to do everything. And seeing how the WiiU missed the ball by about a mile the new kinect interface will have a good chance to snagging those customers. We as "Gamers" is a way to small market for three consoles to fight over and we will eventually go the way of people who use film in their cameras. Well that would be pretty much any EA sport/racing game then... Oh you can START the game on a PC but without a Xbox/PS controller you will have a nightmare.. In my experience at least. They do a shite job of porting things to PC.
But, but.., Jedi knight da Force!
Not interested in the XBOX, for reasons people already stated. I have a PS3 now, I sometimes use it for gaming (playing through the Walking Dead right now, good game and was on sale on the PSN) but still mostly for movies and netflix and other streaming type stuff. I have the original 20 gig version, its fan is loud as fuck when you turn it on. I'll get a replacement simply for that reason and use the old one on my bedroom TV until it dies. But honestly, its run perfectly since launch (I got it for half price off someone who received it as a gift, which was an effing sweet deal near launch) and I've been impressed with its durability.
You are correct. Originally, they had stated that it probably would be. The latest indicates that it definitely will not be. They are saying that they will eventually have the entire catalog available for cloud streaming, but did not indicate whether or not they would have a system in place to claim games that you already own. Sorry for the error. I hadn't done any recent research on it.
