I won't be available this weekend, sadly. Gotta go get a couple new monkey suits for the World Championship Cheese Contest in Wisconsin.
I don't make it (not yet at least depending on if I go into the dairy industry). I get to judge the cheddar entries because I'm currently the US national champion collegiate cheddar judge.
OMG, that's so awesome. I'm craving curds so bad right now. Where is it located at? You should go kick Chris (he's in Madison) in the nuts.
Am I still full of jealousy? Yup, bursting with it. I have to stop myself now or I will quickly launch this thread on a course of derailment that will alst for pages and pages about how much I love cheese.
It's actually in Madison. And cheese is so win (unless you're one of those poor folks that are allergic to milk proteins).
I arrive Sunday morning March 4th and leave that Thursday. I'm totally cool with meeting up from a beer. If what my coach says about how hard they work the judges is true, then I'll need it.
Yeah. Apparently there's some well established rivalries since most of the coaches have been training dairy judges and competing against each other for decades.
Honestly I didn't either until the semester it was offered. There's meat judging also. It's more torture than dairy judging because you don't actually taste anything when judging meat.
