I'll do a quick write up for Americans: In general US planes are good at Boom and Zoom. Not great turn-fighters, so maintaining an energy advantage on an enemy and swooping down on them is key. At the lower tiers (1-4), the P40 is a great plane. At tier 5 the A-20G Havoc is awesome, its a fast heavy fighter/dive bomber that will outrun anything at its tier and brings 6 MGs to the fight. The airacobras p-39s at tier 6 are also powerful due to the 37mm nose cannon, they're good all around planes. The Kingcobra at tier 9 is basically the same but better.
Also my new favorite, the premium BTD Destroyer. Technically a dive bomber, so it always starts at high altitude, this thing can carry 8x 250lb bombs or 2 torpedoes. Its the only American plane except the Catalina that can carry 2, so its powerful on water maps. Additionally, if you drop the bombs, it carriers 2 cannons and manuevers like a fighter. Its a great BnZ plane, my first fight with it I took out 2 BF109s by diving on them and ripping them to shreds in 1 pass. EDIT: Last game, 5-0 in the BTD. Would've had more but crashed when trying to land and repair. My baby:
I actually enjoy playing the Cat 5a and am looking forward to unlocking the b-25 for more sweet bomb dropping and auto dakka dakka from multiple turrets.
I actually really like the F2A-3 Buffallo. I had several times where I got 4-5+ kills with the little bugger in tier 6 matches. Its just really really powerfull dont ask me why maybe I am just lucky with it.
Its not a bad plane, but its not a great one. It is fast enough to keep up with better planes, but unless they don't know how to evade you will run dry before you can kill them.
Holy crap the Corsair 1c (the one with 4 cannons) is fun. Just got it. turned and shredded a FW 190 who still had a good amount of speed.
It's on the release tree for the U.S. and I am guessing it will be released when the tanks hit open beta but that doesn't mean it will. Release tree doesn't have dates just what planes are planned.
road map release tree page (would have to click US then zoom in on the image.) also can't wait till they put the F4U-4s in (four blade props) So the first f4u-4 (B) should essentially be a better f4u-1d. the f4u-4c will be a better f4u-1c and the 4E/4N will be night fighter versions of the 2 (one with machineguns one with cannons probably) by night fighter they are supposed to have radomes on the right wing.
I would fly the Corsair C a lot more if it didn't cost 20k+ to repair every game. Awesome plane, but since it got a few weeks being a pure UFO they upped its repair costs through the roof and its no longer economically viable to fly.
it's repair isn't to bad in arcade (I think at the moment for me it's around 7-8k if it is completely totaled which it rarely is. It's usually around 3-4k I have to pay because it's almost always only one of the wings has been shot off but not much other damage.)
looking at the US release tree again I see 6 variants total for the B25. 2 have the 75 millimeter cannon the G and the H. The G has 2 .50 cals in the nose with the 75 mm. The H has 8 .50 cals in the nose with the 75 mm. top turret was moved to just behind the cockpit so it could add its guns to the nose guns (so now 10 .50 cals) could carry 3,000 LBS of bombs or 8 rockets. and I think may have been the first model of b25 with the waist guns or at the least the first with the staggered waist guns. first practical tail turret as well. previous models had tail turret but not a practical one. If they make it so you can get the hard nose of the J you could end up with 12 fixed .50 cals (13 and 14 come from the top turret but I doubt that would be allowed)
Hoping for this special bomb-load for the Skyraider: I think it should qualify it for Rank 5 on that alone.
