Archeage

I know it's probably common knowledge that I don't generally go for MMO's, but this looks like quite interesting. I will be trying it out after it launches. Any other takers?

I am already in the Alpha. or well now beta thingy they are running. I quite enjoy my time there

 

I just got a beta invite. Ill be giving it a run.

Check your glyph account if you have one. The game should be in your library. That's if you're invited.

You apparently have to get fuel for vehicles. How you get this by having a cow shit and then going through the shit and get methane.... but you also pass out while you do it..... lol

 

I have been watching that video, very interesting.

There are protected areas where you can set up homes and farms to grow stuff. However you can also plant anywhere and people apparently go into the mountains and plant. So when you do that, other people can steal your stuff. When someone on your faction tries to steal your stuff it leaves behind glowing footprints, which can then be reported. When this happens you get a criminal point, when you reach 50 points you get sent to a court and other players are brought in as jurors and they get to decide how much jail time you get. When you get to jail you have a debuff for up to 500 minutes where you cannot do anything. However you can also escape jail, but you still get the debuff. You can get up to 5000 criminal points you are kicked out of your faction and have to go to the pirate island and be part of the pirate faction.

He said apparently on one server the pirate faction becomes so strong, they became a mafia of the sea and people had to pay them protection to cross to the ocean without getting destroyed.

So, complete freedom of trade, governance, politics and economy... seems interesting. I do think this is one of those games where if you come in after the early days you would have a very hard time getting caught up. This seems like basically EVE or SWG but more fantasy/steampunk setting.

 

I Don't know about anyone else, but I will be trying this out over the next few days. If you do, make sure to post the server you are on, or lets decide on a server so everyone is together that is playing.

 

Turns out this particular e-mail I got was actually for the beta, so I will be playing too. Why don't you pick a server for us gihz.

is Archage worth the buy in?... it does LOOK good

 

No idea, not planning on buying in yet.. it is a little expensive. I am gonna try it out though.

 

I rolled on Kyrios, it was the only server without a queue. I'll be in TS this evening if anyone would like to join to check this out.

 

Ill catch you guys in TS before I roll. I wonder if this game can scratch my SWG itch.

 

I watched that stream posted above... it looks interesting enough, plus I sold about $8,000.00 worth of goods in the latest yard sale, so I can treat myself. I just picked up the Silver pack, it was $50.00

Edit: its a 11.2 gig download, so this may take a few moments with my semi-crappy internet.

 

Keep in mind, you do not get in immediately with that... I dont think.
