I start nursing school next month which means I will have to curtail my various hobbies more so than usual. The new campaign, 33XX (aka Prometheus Campaign), was specifically designed with my limited schedule in mind. In some ways, it will "dumb down" some administrative mechanics, but the lowered amount of management required from me will benefit all during this time. It will also give a much larger amount of flexibility to all players involved. Chiefly among these, players will no longer be tied down by conflicting schedules with their lance. Everyone will be welcome to be as active as they want. More on this can be found in the Prometheus sub-forum. That basically gives us a month to complete our current campaign. We are a little behind schedule, but we can still make it if people can commit to roughly 1 drop a week. If not, we have two options: Delay 33XX and take our time finishing the current campaign proper; even if it means taking a few more months to get there. Personally, I'm leaning towards this option because I've spent literally months planning the final climax for this. All the foreshadowing and teasers... I would hate to have to rush to the finish at the end. But hey... if you guys really don't care, I guess that's fine, so I also offer an alternative.... Our alternative is a "cliff-notes" version where I basically skip us ahead to the important bits. The drawback to this is that you will have far less control over mission parameters. Basically, the story will go "on the rails" and it will be up to you guys to rise to the challenge... or not. To give you a better idea of what is involved, here are the major events we have yet to address: Parlay with the Gorettis (our decision has 1 of 3 outcomes) Arrival of a "Third Party" Resolve the fate of Lily Morgana and The Harbinger Parlay with the Martillos (our decision has 1 of 3 outcomes) Resolve the fate of Savio "the Butcher" Drago Conclussion
I am strongly opposed to the idea of rushing a story line. Rushing a story (a conclusion, no less!) just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Yeah, I'd rather we have a well-paced, high-quality ending to our current campaign. I just finished my triple speed Calculus 2 class for the summer, and I am 100% free 24/7 until August 24th! That being said, if you need any assistance in getting things set up for the campaign to get it done on time Magnus, shoot me a PM and I'd be more than happy to help out!
I would also like to complete it in a nicely paced manner. I'll try and get my Prometheus stuff set up before the Month is out though.
Sounds good. A lot of people have yet to vote, but looks like we will just keep doing what we've been doing until we get it done. For my part, I will do what I can as a GM to not needlessly drag out what remains of the campaign. That being said, there is only so much I can do if one of the lances stops their warring to take up gardening in some nearby villiage.
