Good thing I'm not a King then! So what have people gone with for builds so far? How are they working out?
The prologue is pretty effin' long, only got through that last night, haven't actually sword fought anyone yet or did any real exploring. I'm going to be a bit speech heavy I think, not sure on weapons, I'll probably go Elder Scrolls school of sneaky archer.
Haven't got far enough to settle into a build, but I'll be going melee heavy, probably with a hammer or sword.
I dont have it, but Haki was talking about this last night: https://www.vg247.com/2018/02/14/kingdom-come-deliverance-infinite-save-mod-pc-saviour-schnapps/
Are there hammers? I know there's a mace skill, does hammer fall under that? I assume blunt is better vs armor and cutting vs non-armor? I do like myself a good hammer though. Maybe I'll go with smooth talking hammer time

On the lockpicking, apparently it doesn't work on controllers / consoles properly. On PC its much easier. I haven't had any issues with the easy locks, I haven't really tried the harder ones, but apprently the controller lets you control how fast you turn the circle while on PC its always on LUDICROUS SPEED. I also tried finding one of those treasure chests which I assume are part of pre-ordering / DLC, goddamn that thing was vague.
Ive settled on a Light sword/Board + Poleaxe with full padded/chain. This doesn't leave much room for loot but I am enjoying not having to try and unhorse people by hand, or having to get ultra close against multiple opponents.
the reasons that polearm and spear was so widely used is because of its range and ability to take on one to two targets that had close range weapons such as swords, maces, and axes. there are some videos on YouTube of spear vs sword in 1v1 fights and the person with the spear wins almost all the time, even with lesser skilled people handling the spear, it still beats the sword user more often. This is why the spear and then later the pike is the main weapon with swords, axes, and maces as back up. Pikes are normally in a armed formation only because of how long they are.
