I read a bit on that one. Belgium, as I recall, is one of the foremost stories. It does bring up interesting interpretations. If that is the case, how do you put a cost on a Machine Gun in MWO where you have to buy a key to unlock a box? There are many games that do something similar. It will be interesting to see how the courts make that definition.
That's great news if it actually fixes the loot boxes properly, but it still bothers me that EA is only considering changing it for legal reasons rather than ethical ones. Just another example of where their priorities are.
They already stated that they will bring back the in purchases after they made a few changes to the game. That means fixing the chance rates on items so it wont be gambling. That will probably mean one of two things. Adjusting how items are dropped so as to always give a minimum prize amount based on some arbitrary number or a paid only box that gives better chances or paid only items.
which basically means digital content is valued at whatever arbitrary number the creator values it at and so they simply have to have some way to list their arbitrary bullshit value so that legally it is counted as the legal value.
EA's greed has come back to bite them in the butt. more and more people getting in on the regulating loot boxes wagon. some updates on whats going on with lootboxes.
Can that guy use any more spurious empty phrases for dramatic effect if he were trying? I get it people hate EA for reasons that are valid, but damn it if half of your video is empty descriptions of other descriptions upon descriptions who's only purpose is to incite feat/panic/hate get better script writing. It makes an audience want to turn the message off, not tune in.
so, Battlefront 2 has squad mode, now you can spawn on your squadmates, who want's to dust off their copy with me?
wait... it didn't have that before? isn't that kind of a staple for games of that type now? (I don't buy EA games anymore, otherwise I would join you)
I hope EA is taking note. https://www.polygon.com/2019/3/26/1...21KG_KQYNUfpQjoZcwhKUxtCU0Bvt_4OiWdRS9n8eMrbE (probably don't need to read the article but the headline). Star Wars: Battlefront 2 — the original one — leads April’s Xbox Games With Gold
