As an alternative to the unit being wiped out, the skjaldborg higher ups could have discovered it was far more profitable to pimp its members out.
I mean, it'd only work until they realized it was being transmitted by sex, and then they'd just stop doing it, because they're clan. Only the lowborn scum have sex for procreation, the warriors just do it for funzies.
they said they need more then just mech pilots for lore. We could the another Viking route to really fuck some things up and be a warship crew. Could crew a destroyer with Dihm as the captain and everyone else filling out the other roles.
I mean, we're a merc company, theoretically we'd have quite a bit more than just the pilots or we'd fall flat pretty quick XD Personally I want to be one of the engineers, my pet project is a defunct star league gauss rifle I've been attempting to restore. So far I've managed to test fire the thing twice, once generating an arc flash that all but incinerated the nearby cargo, and the second time I managed to magnetically weld my toolbox to one of the access panels. And by weld I mean it was two separate pieces of metal and now there's no discernible difference between the wall of the toolbox and the panel. But I'm getting closer, if only I can figure out how to restore or replace the capacitor bank without destroying the weapon (and everything else within a couple dozen feet) I might be able to get it running again! ^.^
We'd have to jump forward, backward, or be Clan to do that, since Warships are a touch on the rare side
But what if we made a deal with space at&t to force people people to pay their bills? Nevermind. Even then comstar still probably would not give or even rent out a warship.
would be lucky to get Comstar to even offer a merc company a contract, if they need work done of that nature they tended to just pressure the houses into getting it done, and the house would hire a merc if it was something they didn't want to handle personally.
I think they used mercs to guard their HPG stations after Hanse "attacked" them during the 4th succession war. But I think comstar used mercenaries for the first few years because they "didn't have" their own troops or mechs "yet".
Which also would not make sense for them to donate a warship to the cause, since guard duty is traditionally a stationary contract ^.^
Yes, we become a cautionary tale for other young merc groups 'don't mess with Comstar lest you end up shattered like the shieldwall!'
No cheese, please. As far as 'borg lore goes, between all the documents Dihm and I have, there is plenty there to patch a competent background together that is canon friendly.
