    This year officially sucks balls.

Posting things that have been discovered about the virus by doctors that are researching it around the world.

The Germans have been watching the patients they have and they noticed that the infected person is contagious before and after symptoms. The virus is still multiplying within the body after symptoms go away because the immune system is no longer responding to the virus along with bone marrow function dropping. This is because of what the doctors in India have discovered and that is there are parts of the HIV-1 that have been transplanted into the coronavirus. They have stated that the only way that the new novel coronavirus could exist with these HIV-1 parts is because of it having been manufactured. This maybe the reason why the Chinese government wanted HIV fighting drugs to combat this virus which started in Wuhan city which is also home to one of China's level 4 pathogen facilities. The only outcome for the infected person at this time is death at this point. Currently do not know if the HIV drugs will cure the person with the virus or just stop the virus from multiplying. The gates foundation has stated that at least 300 million will die within the next 2 months if this current information is true.

I looked at the reports you linked, none of them mention a single thing about HIV being transplanted in the virus. If they state so, please show me where as I did not see it. They mostly state that its similar to SARS and other coronaviruses before, which are very akin to the common flu in terms of contagion and fatality. In other words, there is zero proof in anything you linked that the current corona virus isn't anything more than what is being discussed in medical circles, which is a highly contagious, but not as deadly as the common flu, virus. Yea, it sucks, but from what its looking like its not the world ending pandemic everyone is afraid of. Being contagious before showing symptoms is pretty common, and the german paper said nothing about being contagious after recovery.

I may have posted the wrong paper but it should have been this unless this is fake. This does specify hiv and goes into greater detail.

This is why I’m trusting the research they did until a peer review says otherwise. I don’t know this stuff either, can only go by what they tell us and make the best judgment from there.

This doctor goes over what he thinks about the research done from India. A bit long but he explains a lot of stuff. Which he agrees the selection of HIV parts and where they had been put is suspect to having been manufactured.

    Some maths for anyone interested:

If only 20% of Americans contracted the disease with an average of 2% mortality rate it would mean 1,300,000 Americans dying of it.

For Europe the same figures would mean 3,000,000 Europeans dying of it.

I haven't heard a single call for quarantine of any sort, because, obviously millions of deaths is a lesser concern than someone having to spend 4 weeks at a hotel without a warning.

The Chinese government has established pretty dramatic quarantine measures in Wuhan: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/02/06/world/asia/coronavirus-china-wuhan-quarantine.amp.html?0p19G=7900

Cruise ships with infected patients have been detained for weeks. Here is an example of that: https://www.usatoday.com/story/trav...nam-turns-away-german-cruise-ship/4754149002/

CDC orders a federal quarantine after retrieving Americans from mainland China: https://www.nbcnews.com/health/heal...uarantine-americans-flown-california-n1127551

Candidly, if your impression is that governments have been hesitant to quarantine, you have not been paying attention.

That isn't to say this isn't a serious matter, but let's veer away from sensationalizing the situation.

Don't worry, I'm wrong so often that I've become quite used to it being the default case :D

I stand corrected. This is good news to me. And you are correct, I am not paying a lot of attention. I think if there was a Russian invasion going on I'd learn of it when I tried to pass a T-80 on my way to work.

I'm near Honolulu, they've quarantined a bunch of people coming off flights for 2 weeks to ensure no one is infected, and most recently holding an entire cruise ship from Mexico without permission to come onto land until the 2 week period is over (Japanese cruise line from Mexico, unsure what the danger there was). However, there apparently now is an elderly Japanese man who had been in Hawaii about 2 weeks ago that is now home but is confirmed to have the coronavirus, and he developed a cough/flu when he was here, so thats good.

I'm curious about the cruise ships. Don't they only carry supplies (at least food) only for the scheduled trip? Does supplies get airlifted out to the ship.

Wouldn't need an airlift, just a line transfer.

True. Any kind of resupply method.

Lol as funny as it would be to literally strand a cruise ship at sea, all of these ships are docked. They are all pier side and tied up as they would be on a normal day. Only difference is the doors leading off the ship are closed to people. The bigass cargo hatches are opened when they need stuff and they just forklift them on like they are prepping for a normal cruise. As for "procuring" the food and whatnot these companies have very large and long standing contracts in place for food delivery and pallets of beer. They kinda have to in order to feed 6000 people a week, then do it again with 16 hours prep time. So even if they have to prep -everything- on the dock and take in completed meals it is nothing more then a walk to the hatch and up to the room. If they are cleaning the kitchens every night like its a waffle house in Tennessee then they wouldnt even have to prep much on the dock. The real problem in my eyes is the ships ventilation system (which can be flooded with chlorine to make clean ) and the actual people handling things like food/bedding/things. If your prepper is sick...

That makes more sense. All the things I have been seeing make it sound like the ships aren't being allowed to dock. Makes much more sense to dock and just not let anyone off. It might be stranding some ships simply because I don't know if there is enough dock space (I guess they could tie up like navy ships do. Ship 2 is docked to ship 1 which is tied up to the pier)

Yeah the only reason a ship would be unable to dock would simply be a lack of pier space. Presumably however if they need pier space they'd simply make someone (who's been there long enough to resupply) ship off while the newcomers docked. It's not a perfect system, but it'd work fine for a short period.

That is what happened to the ship in Japan giving rise to the idea the ships are stuck at sea. The ship -had- to dock but the only dock had like 4 other ships waiting for the space to unload. So they pulled the cruise ship in, loaded a week of supplies, then went to the harbor anchorage 3 miles away for 48 hours while the other ships unloaded and everyone else in line went to different ports. Then the cruise ship redocked and has been there since.
