I've been hearing the side effects really vary from person to person. My mom had none other than some soreness. I'm probably going to be in the very last group for it.
Yeah, having already contracted it I think I'm going to give folks who haven't get a chance to get inoculated before I get it. I'm keeping an eye on these new strains we're seeing just in case though, since god knows I don't want to catch it again.
My wife and I've gotten both pfizer vaccines, we both work at a hospital. I had a bit of soreness in my arm, my wife after the 2nd shot basically had pretty severe fever and body aches for about 18 hours. Most people we know had nothing though, but it seems pretty polarized in that like 5% of the people get pretty severe symptoms but majority get nothing. If you get symptoms after the 2nd shot its your body's immune system response that makes you feel like shit, it basically thinks you have an actual virus and goes into overdrive.
I've had several flu shots and other vaccines and one time I had to really go lie down and the hand was stiff for the whole day. One time a flu shot made me feel weak and when I went to practice a few days later I had to almost immediately lie down to avoid passing out. Hungary basically announced "EU's vaccine program is kaput" and ordered a whole bunch of vaccines from Russia and China. Meanwhile we still don't know anything about if there's going to be any vaccinations at all by summer whereas they insisted that they were going to be well underway by now and wrapping up before they now think they might start it. Meanwhile I'm hearing that loads and loads of people are getting vaccinated in places like Germany, though the deal was originally for the whole EU to order together and distribute so that each country would get equal percentages by timeline. But as always it doesn't ever really go like that - if it goes at all.
Got Moderna yesterday . Apparently I can never do things easily. Started with sore arm and headache followed by nausea and chills. Wearing pants, socks, shirt, fleece, slippers, under two blankets, with heating pad when the house is 71F. This evening it changed up and now I feel both hot and cold at the same time. At least I seem to be in the minority for reactions
Don't worry, it's still way better than getting the actual virus. That put me completely out of commission for about three days, then left me vulnerable to a bacterial infection that took another week to get over. And apparently that's a mild case. It sucks ass.
