    Fuck this thing.

I still suffer from symptoms like chest pains, mental and physical fatigue. Also regularly waking to my heart beating out of my chest is alarming.

Doctor says I'm fine, but it sure doesn't feel like it. American healthcare system sucks, so further testing will simply put me in more debt.

Thanks for the support guys. Ike, I am glad you are with us. And yeah, the American healthcare system needs a major overhaul but I am glad we have what we have as well. It is better than nothing.

For what it's worth, you probably actually are fine. Some of the symptoms will stick for a good month or so. It's going to fucking suck, because you'll basically have the flu for like six weeks straight. But you can't get double-COVID, so once you have a positive result it's at least not gonna bite you a second time. So stay safe, treat the symptoms, stay optimistic, and don't stress over stuff you have no control over. And I say this as much to myself as to you, since I know firsthand how easy it is to get despondent about this situation.

I'm trying to stay positive. I'll have some good weeks of no symptoms, but it seems to always creep back. It just sucks because I got this thing back in March, and I figured it would be over by now.

Oh yikes. Yeah it should be. Might be something that needs attention. My sister’s a nurse so I’ll ask her when I get a chance.

If you don't take any offense by it these sound very similar - exactly like - panic attack symptoms.

I would know. Trying to soldier on and thinking I'm invincible and can take anything. Then at some point down the road looking back and seeing I've not been well, been displaying a ton of negative symptoms such as when I was eventually banned. And these days at times, just being in shop trying to focus on groceries and then something triggers it and I feel like I can't breath by the time I get to the cashier, heart pounding and all. I've pretty much stopped doing most of the things that I liked doing because I'm chronically tired and uninterested, physically and mentally.

It can also manifest with stuff like as if heart is skipping some beats, a sense of arrhytmia but induced by the constant state of stress. The autonomous nervous system is constantly on alert, such things as a prolonged sense of losing control over one's life and life decisions, inability to do anything about the things that are causing stress... and then the body is constantly spent like after major exercise.

I mean, sorry, this may not relate to you in one bit and I hope it doesn't but it's an awful thing to endure and can start sneakily.

Stuff like noticing how one is no longer active in things that once were the prime focus of one's activities but with nothing having actually replaced those things could also give hint to it potentially being something like that.

And indeed sometimes the mood and general sentiment and sense of how things are gets better and then again it gets worse. Some things can be recurring which themselves are very stressful and induce stress.

No offence taken. Honestly, rather it be a panic attack and not permanent organ damage.

The good side about panic attacks is indeed that you know they're not an actual thing like organ damage and also that it's possible to get rid of the underlying cause eventually at some point. Like, being trapped for 10 years with it is still not even close to what anything permanent would be.

It's also worth mentioning that panic attacks can present differently for different people, so you don't need to have all of them. The NIH lists these but I've seen people who have others as well:

    • Sudden and repeated panic attacks of overwhelming anxiety and fear
    • A feeling of being out of control, or a fear of death or impending doom during a panic attack
    • Physical symptoms during a panic attack, such as a pounding or racing heart, sweating, chills, trembling, breathing problems, weakness or dizziness, tingly or numb hands, chest pain, stomach pain, and nausea
    • An intense worry about when the next panic attack will happen
    • A fear or avoidance of places where panic attacks have occurred in the past

Got lucky, just a sinus infection and bronchitis that doesn’t want to clear. Who ever thought they would be glad to hear that?

My thoughts go out to all of you, and your families, impacted

Now you get to enjoy the vaccine instead. My friend just got it. Evidently you're gonna miss having bronchitis. :3

Third trip to urgent care, now to pulmonologist, apparently I have asthma (my 'childhood asthma' never really went away, just was hiding out and self-managing) and am in the middle of an attack from the bronchitis. More meds, at home nebulizer, 6-8 weeks of sinus rinses and mouth swishing and popping pills and inhalers and hopefully then shit will be all back under control. All the more reason to be careful of this fucking pandemic.

Yeah, it's becoming evident that aside from the problems the virus itself causes, it opens you up to infection by other, possibly even worse diseases. After I got over it I wound up with a bacterial infection of some sort. Antibiotics took care of that but it made what was already debilitating take twice as long to fully get over.

Vaccines are starting to roll out en masse. I have my first shot scheduled for tomorrow. As much as I despise needles, this is one I am really looking forward to.

I know someone who received it--be ready to feel eghhh for a while. It's better than actually getting COVID by a damn sight but it's not like the flu vaccine.
