Wolverine ER PPCs most definitely will NOT be used by regular forces. They are simply way too expensive to produce in such numbers. They will pretty much be exclusively used by LancerMechs and those are not generally for sale. If you want that specific Whammy, you will have to retrofit it yourself.

Generally speaking, here is how I'm breaking down the tech categories used by Megamek:
    • Bandits - Intro Tech
    • Elite Bandits or Militia - Standard Tech
    • Regular Forces - Advanced Tech
    • Elite Forces - Experimental Tech (limited purchase)
    • LancerMechs - Unofficial (not for purchase)

LOL WUT update, switched it to Tracked. Changes the price to 800k, but it's totally worth it cause now you can jump in to rough terrain. Not heavy woods, but at least light and rubble. What's that? You're immobile? Who cares, you went 0/0 anyway! And you just jumped halfway across the map. All for under a mil. Oh and you have 20 tons of Hardened armor.

Looking at what Dihm's cooking up, I'm not feeling like the CRD-23R I uploaded is quite so outlandish...

I think vehicles need to jump in a forward direction. Will test this out in megamek later.

Because you put it in the mech thread instead of the vehicle thread. If you put it there, I'm sure he'll pay attention to it.

And not ignoring, just focused on getting done what I have on my list to get done. That tank is hilarious.

So just to be doubly sure everyone is on the same page about this, please review the faction mech list and let me know if there are any changes you feel strongly I should make:
    http://www.theskjaldborg.com/index....orporate-century-sourcebook.7478/#post-269597

Keep in mind, I tried to make the list as inclusive and lore-friendly as possible while also encouraging distinction between each design. The reason for all this is I'm trying to trim the fat of unnecessary and overlapping designs that is so prevalent with the full list. This will also allow me to make each mech feel both unique and well balanced with quirks that are individually tailored to each design. The general logic is similar to how NATO allies generally use the same equipment, factions in the 34th century might also benefit from streamlining their forces substantially.

Keep in mind that this will not limit your options for your personal mech. However, it will limit what mechs are available for market discount purchases, what is used by NPCs you hire, what units you will face in combat, what units allies use, etc.

Not included in the above list is the drone catalog which is a separate thing and can be found here:

I'm a little surprised that the combine wouldn't have the Jenner on their list (unless it's just not mentioned due to "general" availability).

Also a little surprised that the Grand Dragon isn't around anywhere, considering Antallos general proximity to the DC and that new variants were still being produced until at least 3114. (I realize it never really had the ubiquitous export status of the original Dragon of the Succession War era, though).

Good points. I struggled with finding a place for both the Panther and Jenner. Both definitely needed inclusion, but I couldn't really justify DK using both when one could easily replace the other with a few upgrades. Ultimately, I decided the Panther would become the official light mech of the DK (with necessary speed upgrades) and the Jenner would become a "general use" mech. My conclusion is largely based on this quote from Sarna:
So basically, the DCMS had considered the Jenner "obsolete" even prior to the Clan Invasion and this was exacerbated by newer OmniMech designs. If the Panther was upgraded into a "proper light", it would effectively compete with the Jenner. The way I see it, if the DCMS really wanted a cheaper, slow, and hard hitting unit like the Panther, they would be better served with a medium tank which outperforms a "normal" Panther in pretty much every significant way. So the Jenner got pushed into "general use" circles... which seemed like the natural progression for any very common vehicle that is considered "obsolete".

The Dragon and Grand Dragon live on with the Dragon II (remember, in this century, regular units have modular arms; so you can freely swap between ACs and PPCs with the Dragon II). I use the term "Support" very loosely in this case (not all variants will have the Arrow IV launcher). I foresee the 70 ton version of the Dragon II being every bit worthy as successor to its smaller ancestors.

If the overall list seems surprisingly short (3 mechs per major faction), that has everything to do with my very limited time to work on this. This is all much more than cosmetic; I am handcrafting each mech to have distinct quirks to make it stand out from other similarly sized mechs (many of the canon quirks are applied unevenly or don't make sense). This takes A LOT of time, however. Ideally, I would like closer to 5 mechs per faction, but I just don't see that in the cards for me anytime soon.

Another example is the Catapult: Not only is it primarily represented in Liao circles (which we won't see much of in this area of space), but I couldn't really justify its inclusion when there is also the Archer and Crusader to consider (which do the exact same job). And just to be clear for anyone who missed it: players are still welcome to pick anything canon for their personal mechs.

Another glaring omission is the Marauder, but again... the Warhammer pretty much does everything a Marauder can do, but better.

Time for ballistic-based mechs to get some much needed love:

    Capture.GIF [IMG]
Overview: Perhaps the most iconic brawler in Battlemech history, the Hunchback continues to serve proudly as an effective CQC trooper. The centuries have been kind to the mech as well, featuring improved range, durability, jump jets, and better ammunition efficiency without adding any new drawbacks. Without a doubt, any force choosing to sack a city defended by a company of these is in for a tough fight.

Quirks: Battle Fists, Cowl, Reinforced Legs, Stable
