    More info on new features that weren't mentioned before:


    The changes to how faction rep works and more nuanced market features are definitely an improvement. There's actually a reason to be picky about who you choose as an employer now.

    With the new Career Mode that gives you open access to the whole map at the start, I'm wondering if there is the possibility of us doing some kind of community meta-gaming thing we could do with it. Maybe something like posting planets to attack here with drop limits, and then players posting their results for some kind of reward. It would be far more limiting than Megamek, but it would also be far easier to manage and more friendly to new players.

    Probably not, the original game starts with segments of the map closed to you, and you open them up as you progress, so they probably just mean unrestricted access to 'the map' not necessarily The Map including all of the inner sphere etc... I mean, I'd love to see it, but that's an awful lot of additional for an expansion. More of The Map sure, but the entirety? Well, if they could've done that in the time since release why didn't they just put it in the first one? :p

    What Damion said, but there is a mod that lets you play on the whole Inner Sphere map if you want. So you have options, but I don't think the game is greatly improved by expanding the map 10x... not without making interesting reasons to visit places on a map that big. I'm more interested in the mission editor that they quietly included. Not a lot of info on it yet, but it sounds like we will be able to add our own missions to the game.

    I must admit I didn't finish the game last time, I got bogged down at some point where I just felt like there wasn't really much tactical variety and all the missions felt the same. I was at some two part mission where you suddenly get faced with a shit load of enemy reinforcements after being forced into a small city area in a shitty position, should probably go back and see if I can redo the mission

    You can now drag your mechs in the mechbay to reorganize them.

    Something I just posted on Facebook. True story...

    Alright,
    We all know the random number generator hates us from time to time. I started a new campaign with Flashpoint to see all the changes from the bottom up. My commander has been head shot three times and has now spent over a year in med bay total. Most recent one was a Cyclops coming around a hill and hitting me with an AC/20. No other damage on the mech at all.

    Anyone else have wonderful stories like this?

    Most recent injury, the headshot from the Cyclops, 105 days in Medbay.

    Whole damn game stopped loading for me. Just freezes at the HBS splash screen, even after verifying and reinstalling.
