Final Results of Operation Jagermeister

Skwi shoulders the Inferno missile launcher and stands a safe distance from the Lyran T-bolt. Sheo puts on a good show over a loudspeaker of "come on out with your hands up" and getting an expected lack of response. After a few minutes of this, Skwi lines up the shot, thumbs a switch, and fires. The cockpit of the T-bolt erupts into a pyre of flammable jelly.

"Let's hope this works"...

 

Shepard is still unconscious. Her hair has been dyed black and cut short. She has also been dressed in a Skjaldborg Tech uniform. Between this and the large bandage over one eye, her true identity is all but unrecognizable.

FedCom forces arrive not but a few minutes later. Our FedCom liaison reviews Delta mission report while surveying the area. He appears pleased with Delta's performance, but voices his surprise that they were able to take down such a superior force. The pilot's bodies of the Banshee and Zeus are both accounted for, but he inquires about the two T-bolt pilots.

Where are they?

 

The FedCom liaison says he is disappointed that you did not wait for his arrival.

"I would have preferred taking her alive... for questioning."

He gives a hint of a smirk with the last word.

"Nevertheless, your lance has succeeded in neutralizing the last known rogue battlemech forces."

After an informal mission debriefing with Delta Lance, the liaison returns to his command vehicle to contact central HQ. An hour later he returns.

"Congratulations. Delta Lance and the rest of the Skjaldborg Commandos here have performed admirably. I will submit a full report to my superior. I hereby officially declare that the Commandos are relieved from active combat duty. Your forces will return to your dropship landing zone for rest and repairs. You will remain there on standby for the remainder of your contract. If I need you, I will call you."

 

"What about our company hostage people? Or something."

 

Let us see what information we can get now...

 

As Delta Lance is preparing to leave, Shepard awakes. She is confused by her surroundings and visibly shaken, but is relieved to still be alive and eager to speak to whoever is in charge.

 

"Tell us alllll that you KNOOOOOOOOOOW! WHO is YOUR EMPLOYAAAAA?"

 

Wait we have someone in charge around here?!?

I will volunteer for any additional operations to retrieve our comrades, even if it might take some creativity to pull off with our fedcom liaison ordering us back to the dropship to wait.

She is confused. She thought you would have been more worried about your lost pilots.

Negotiation skill check on finding out who backed their insurgency... it is also unclear exactly how much information she knows. A separate negotiation check will determine how much you can discern her state of mind through watching and listening to her.

btw, Sheo is your negotiator, but Dihm can interrogate her using his Leadership skill with a +2 modifier penalty.

sounds good. we should meet on TS and find out what happens.

if you guys want, i can roll for you guys to get this over with, but it is better and more fun if you guys do it yourselves on TS.

we need to resolve Hunter's and LD's MIA status, the fate of Shepard, and then what actions if any you will take in regards to knowing fuck-all about what the FedCom liaison officer knows that he's not telling you (the last part applies to everyone).

UPDATE: Poor Hunter and LD... I think Delta fell asleep. Going to poke them with PMs.
