In your background you didn't specify if you were a grunt or a Lance leader or whatever, so just put that in under rank?
Put what in? I'm not sure if it makes any sense for me to be an Lt. if we're not company or larger in strength. Like, I'm assuming you'd be a unit commander, but that might be Löjtnant, Kapten, or Överste depending on whether we're an augmented lance, company, or regiment going in (I remember we were nearly a brigade back around 2012-2013 but I don't think we have nearly that now, and certainly not in the Kickstarter). Maybe you're something like a Löjtnant-Överste if we're around battalion strength? Or are you doing the ranking officer thing at all? I noticed there's a lore shift from Magnus and Mordihmer defecting from the DC in 3029 to this Demitri guy just soliciting volunteers for resistance forces...
I put under Rank that Demetri was the "unit commander and that we use the FRR KungArmé ranks. Depending on unit size would depend on rank, so probably something like Överste (Colonel)." Mordihmer was renamed to Demetri, otherwise same person. Son of Magnus. Instead of defecting, family fled to Lyran Commonwealth after oppression and deaths and resigning commission from a non-fanatical DCMS unit. Magnus started Skjaldborg while Demetri ended up in military academy after a bit
Yep mine will also go in but I need to sit down and see what level of character I’m at and decide if I want to bump that up more. For back story family that chafed under the draks left for the Lyran commonwealth and worked in business trying to help support rebellion, went with the borg to actively fight and didn’t really agree with the politics of the leaders that took over in the new FRR so basically has long standing family and personal fight against the combine but also mistrust of the Lyrans for all the meddling and half hearted support.
I swapped my Ride to Any with some suggestions for chassis to make things less tied down there. Life's a gamble
I would still stick to your guns and say "modified Battletemaster 1G" is that's what you want. That would take almost no effort on their part and if they want details on the loadout, they can always ask.
A kitted out Assault Mech doesn't make a ton of sense if we end up as a small Company with limited resources scraping for funds. So many variables. All this back and forth has showed me that I'm not married to a specific mech and configuration
I’m sticking with my love of the centurion or a t-bolt at most, would love a choppy mech but the axman and hatchet man don’t seem reasonable to be available for our backstory.
Yeah, it's easy to take for granted how easy they are to obtain in the games (easy being relative, I just mean they're not always available even as salvage as the games might make it appear, enemies are more frequently likely to retreat before losing the big boys) non-cause related battles are frequently against less well equipped pirates, or skirmishes rather than all out brawls. Hatchetman is within the timeframe, I think, I could see arguments in favor. Either a gift from Lyran sympathizers or salvaged from the field, maybe from Lyran pirates that stole it first. The Lyran's were integral to the restoration of the FRR even if they didn't -stay- friends afterwards. I mean, it's been around for a number of years by this point. The Axman I think hasn't yet been developed. Actually what the hell timeline are they focusing on, anyway? I'm assuming after 3029 simply because of a comment made earlier from someone's backstory.
This is for the Clan Invasion kickstarter, so I assume wherever people were at by the dawn of 3050? You are right about the rest of it. The Axeman's official production year was 3048, but obviously would have been given first priority to FedCom forces and their allies.
but the Clan invasion era is 3049? - 3059/60. So are they going off the invasion era or the actual invasion (i think that ended in 3052-53). Personally I'd go off the invasion itself at the latest.
3049-3050ish... I wasn't being precise. And its debatable because half the Inner Sphere didn't even notice when it started.
Hey, maybe the sho-sa customized it before we "liberated" it! Would explain the atrocities arsenal...
Once the Pledge Manager closes, people who purchased Canon Character Upgrades are supposed to get a new survey or some form of additional contact
Dumb question... With them working on advancing the timeline out to 3150 and doing ilClan and new stuff out in that range... Do we want to CONSIDER a timeline realignment? Might get us created quicker
Just saying, those of us who submitted characters can check their status (not all shown yet, according to email). For example: https://characters.battletech.com/canon-characters/alexander-mercen
