Super badass brother. Nice work and keep it up. There's a ton to be proud of in mastering such a technique-oriented craft

If your looking at larger scale stuff there are some very nice places to get things from. Though you probably know of these sites so more of a reference for others that may not know.

    http://zealotminiatures.com/

They have some very nice terrain pieces that are really cheap compared to some places. new minotaur stuff is very nice.

    https://creaturecaster.store/us/

They have a bunch of monsters in all sizes, some of which are more on the... NSFW side.

    https://www.ragingheroes.com/

Specialize in miniature war game alternative models but are now branching off with these to make there own game from what ive heard. They have a few large figures but is mainly the smaller stuff of which some are NSFW. very nice models though for the price.

There are others but I cant recommend forge world as the quality is very crappy at times and with other places that have ten to sixteen pieces on a small scale 28mm model and screw those.

Games workshop has new Apocalypse game bundles for 40k armies. The main ones can save you around 80 to 100 dollars depending but most of the models are not what you would consider competitive if your going for tournament level stuff.

I got a tau and necron set so.. i got building and painting to do.

Thanks Hollister, definetely some miniatures of interrest on those sites.

I've buried any plans of painting any army stuff in the near future, maybe next year. I'm do plan on making a few GW models on showcase dioramas and such. I have a passion project in store that is currently waiting in line for some paint love (and a bit more conversion).
Can't wait to get started :viking:

Mortarion. Odd that GW couldnt even get their own model right. In the lore his weapon is supposed to be fully untouched by the powers of chaos but with the model it obviously isnt . I see thats its already a bit different from the stock model. Hes also the only daemon primarch that hasnt been turned into a daemon.

Painting armies can be quite draining.

Why would a Daemon Prince wield a pure untainted weapon? This smacks of shenanigans.

From what I remember mortarion hates just about everything he has become. He hates the warp and the powers that come with it, he hates nurgle and the stuff that has been done to him and his death guard. He hates psykers so much he purged them all from the death guard. Mortarion also has a godly level of resistance. His weapon Silence was a contrast of what he had become and also a reminder of it because of who he obtained it from. There’s only one thing he hates more and that’s the god emperor.

Some theories about him was that before he became a deamon prince, he placed his soul within silence which was why it was pure.

He will one day free asha from nurgle, have her cure him and his loyal death guard, then go on a purge spree on their way out the door.

To be honest I never cared much for WH40K becasue of its complete lack of subtlety (I get it... subtle is not its M.O.). WH40K to me is like the Dude-bro of nerdom. The motivations of various characters were also way too convoluted to hold my interest. That above is probably the most interesting thing I've ever read about WH40K. To be fair, this is probably a case of my own ignorance on the subject than lack of good examples.

If you only ever read one WH40K book, check out Eisenhorn. It's an awesome series of suspense thrillers.

One of my favorite 40k books is Lord of the Night.

A Nightlord space marine from the horus heresy years wakes up after 10k years of sleep on a wrecked ship and then goes to figure out his place in the current world.

    also

The Lizardmen have another very good alternative unit list to buy from with lost kingdom miniatures. They had a kickstarter some months back but you can now preorder on the website if you missed the kickstarter. The sculpts are so much better then what GW is doing.

carnosaur alternative. Currently looking at starting warhammer fantasy army, was going for nighthaunts or skaven but these lizardmen look so freaking awesome.

Huh, that's a hop and a skip from my own chaos chapter, too bad he's nurgle bound. My guys were freed of their chains by the glorious revelry of Slaanesh, and they simply want to cut the reigns on the universe and let the music drown out the screams and depravity ^.^

I think your heresy has confused you a bit as I’m sure those chains had been force fed with baby powder for lube. The dark eldar are smart and know to never go all in with slaanesh because being eternally murder fucked isn’t fun. It’s much more fun being the one doing the murder fucking like the dark eldar for eternity.

no, it's confused them, which is fine ^.^ Also the Dark Eldar aren't really 'in' with Slaanesh, they've simply discovered a level of depravity just above full commitment and maintain that in order to survive under Slaanesh's radar, so to speak.

Was at GenCon this past weekend and they offered a lot of classes on miniature painting. I just did a beginner "make-and-take" where they gave us a miniature and cut us loose to do the best we could with it, but they also had a lot of detailed classes people could sign up for too - for example, how to paint realistic skin tones, how to paint metallics, etc. They also had a "speed painting" competition.
