I'm just going to stick with the old school 5H and swap the left arm ML for a flamer. Cheap and easy to fix.
Hey Sheo, do you know what version of the Character Creator you used, version 2.0 or 2.2? For a reference, if you used 2.2, your tactics skill, level 1, would cost 4 points. It was more expensive in 2.0
Okay, entire lance has been repaired. I've retconned my HCT-3F into an HCT-3S. I increased my Admin and Leadership each by one. Skwi, I begun your refit from the CLNT-2-3T into a CLNT-2-3P, replacing the AC/5 with a PPC and adding 2 Heat Sinks. You have around 3100 hours remaining before completion, and we had a PPC and heat sinks in stock, so we didn't need to purchase anything from the market. Should be done in about a week of game time. After that, I'm going to swap the hatchet from my right arm to left, and the left arm medium laser over to the right, and make my "HCT-3N" version.
5pm should be no problem, I'll check with the missus when I get home and make sure she doesn't have plans for me already.
Current total = 7,253,217 Some people (look at you you crazy GMTers) have sold off their starter mechs and upgraded. Right now, we're sitting at that above figure in our lance. That's after our customization to existing mechs. I think I'd prefer that we all keep our starter mechs and keep working on building up our warchest. I don't want to sell too much off and then have a mech blown out from under us and end up dispossessed. It's better to have a backup in the wings than have to scrounge for one and be unavailable. Next question is, how do we want to prioritize our funds? Skwi, do you want to get out of your Clint and in to a Hoppa asap? Do we want to split that money and use it for upgrading to 3048 tech?
I completely agree with having at least one mech as a backup. While the Clint probably is the weakest link in the lance, it'll cost 6mil to get a Hoppa. On the other hand, that plus the Hatchetman and Clamps would make a very effective fighting force. If you guys are happy with your selections we could get the Hoppa, do a quick mod to swap a ML for a flamer, and build up funds to upgrade the other units down the road. If I keep the Clint the only other thing I would do is eventually trade for some DHS so that would not be very expensive.
Okay, command decision. Buying you a Hoppa, putting in a Flamer. New war-chest is at 1,239,893 C-Bills. According to Magnus we'll be on this planet for at least a month, plenty of time to build it back up.
Put the flame in the left arm, I want to be able to pick up a club and to flame and club at the same time.
FYI, the 5H has a MLas in each arm, 1 in each torso. You want a Mlas in the right arm and flamer in the left? Or have both Mlas and Flamer in left?
I've got my post-timeskip crab build up in the drop box (CRB-21b), costs 8.6 mil though. can we save up for it?
built off the existing mech, though the armor goes to ferro, and the engine goes to xl, and the heatsinks are doubled, so really it just the crab shell around new internals. minus the gyro and cockpit i guess. oh, and one medium laser.
